“The way to a woman’s heart is through her stomach.”

Silence reigned in the room after Mu Heng’s statement.

Cough! Of course, a certain CEO was the source of this chilly air that could kill people.

Mu Heng shuddered at the death-inducing air his friend was emitting and quickly added, “I’m speaking the truth!

“While that saying originally refers to men, it’s also effective against women, especially to a foodie like Little Chili!”

He looked at his friend in all seriousness.

Ji Ziming’s eyebrows twitched slightly. Somehow finding his words sound, he signaled for him to continue with a glance.

Mu Heng quickly grabbed this chance to do so.

“Ziming, think about it; Little Chili likes eating; if you can make good food or something she likes to eat, then we can even jump past the stage of liking! With your identity and background, she’d definitely feel so touched she’d fall head over heels for you!”

The way he spoke now was remarkably different from his usual casual banters.

Ji Ziming, this iceberg man, was a top-notch bachelor worshiped by the female population.

If such a man willingly lowered his pride to cook for a woman, that would surely be one of the most romantic ways to court a woman!

No matter which woman he did that for, she would entirely be head over heels for him.

“…” Thus, although his Casanova friend’s words made him cringe, he still thought that they sounded somewhat reasonable.

“Ha ha, Ziming, you think I have a point, right?” Mu Heng beamed at him.

Oh, man! Just imagining Ziming putting down his pride to cook for Little Chili makes me feel so astonished… I actually find it hilarious!

He felt like bursting into laughter as he pictured him cooking for that fiery lady in a pink apron with cartoon print!

“Ha ha ha!”

Seeing his friend’s look of glee, he narrowed his eyes dangerously at him.

Unfortunately, the gleeful Mu Heng was very occupied with his imagination that he failed to realize this.

“Ziming, let’s sign you up for a cooking class! Properly learn some culinary skills to quickly seize Little Chili’s stomach and conquer her heart! Once she falls in love with you, she’ll definitely do whatever you want!”

…

“Achoo!” Pei Ge sneezed as she stepped out of the washroom after taking a bath.

“Ge Ge, I told you to wear warmer clothes! You shouldn’t wear such flimsy outfit, especially after taking a shower, at this kind of cold season! Hurry and get cozy in your room!” Zhang Manhua, who was in the living room, expressed her worry.

Rubbing her nose, Pei Ge laughed. “Mom, you’re exaggerating. I’m not feeling cold at all. In fact, I even feel a little warm. I only sneezed because my nose felt itchy.”

“Just get in your bed. I’ll boil you ginger soup. It’s bad if you catch a cold.” Her mother then got up off the sofa and walked into the kitchen.

She shook her head wryly at her mother as she muttered softly, “How can I not know my body? I don’t feel unwell at all. For all we know, I sneezed because someone was talking about me!”

She was mumbling this as she made her way to her room.

In her room, she took off her slippers and climbed into bed. Once she was settled, she took her phone from the bedside table and checked for Tang Xiaoyu’s message. Seeing that nothing came from her as usual, she sighed worriedly.

Stupid Xiaoyu, what on earth happened to you?!

You’re not even giving me a call or a text. Are you trying to worry me to death?!

Luckily, her search online did not yield any news of large-scale accidents in and out of the country.

“What are you sighing for?” Her mother happened to walk in with the bowl of ginger soup just as she sighed.

“It’s because of Xiaoyu. I haven’t heard anything from her for half a month already!” She expressed her worry as she received the soup from her mother.

“Don’t worry so much; Xiaoyu is a blessed child. Nothing untoward will happen to her. Plus, didn’t your search online reveal nothing serious happening recently? Maybe that child misplaced her phone and coincidentally has pressing matters preventing her from contacting you.” Zhang Manhua did her best to reassure her daughter.

“I hope so.” She sighed softly again.

While she was sure she would not catch a cold, she still finished her mother’s homemade soup.

The ginger soup warmed her stomach.

Before she went to sleep, she dialed her best friend’s number again. Unsurprisingly, it still did not go through.

“Stupid Xiaoyu, if you don’t contact me soon, we might as well cut all our ties!” she declared indignantly, not really meaning her words.

Tired from a whole day of taking lessons, she fell asleep earlier than usual.

What she did not know was that, on the other end of the capital, a certain CEO was pondering on a certain childhood friend’s advice.

‘The way to a woman’s heart is through her stomach.’

‘It’s effective against women, especially to a foodie like Little Chili!’

‘Ziming, let’s sign you up for a cooking class…’

“…” He loosened his tie with his forehead scrunched up in rumination.

His frown only deepened as he saw the night scenery outside his windows. Gradually, his cold eyes lost their focus.

It seemed that this man, who was as cold as a sharp knife, was zoning out because of conflicted emotions about something.

If anyone saw his pensive look right now, they would assume he was thinking about a very important matter, except…

Learn how to cook? Where should I go to learn it?
