“Sure, sure. MHM, MHM …” She suggested thoughtfully,””I remember that Luo Yi likes forget-me-not, let’s go buy some, and then go with some daisies. It should look good.”

“Alright!” His lips curled into a gratified smile at her enthusiastic suggestion.

He thought that he could go out with her to buy flowers soon, but her phone suddenly rang on the coffee table not far away. As if she had a premonition, his face darkened from the clear sky just now.

“Ziming, wait for me. I’ll take this call.” With that, she patted his arm and walked toward the coffee table.

She was stunned when she saw the caller ID and did not answer it immediately. Instead, she looked at the man with twinkling eyes before answering the call.

!!

However, his tone was still very light, as if he was afraid of waking up a sleeping child.

“Hey, have you arrived?” She covered the phone’s receiver and asked softly.

On the other end of the phone was Ling Feng’s familiar and pleasant male voice,””Yes, it’s me. Not yet. I took the high-speed rail and just arrived at the train station. I’ll probably be there at night. I’m just letting you know.”

PEI GE was surprised. Why didn’t you take the plane to the city? wouldn’t it be faster that way?” Moreover, she had already promised Ji Ziming that she would have dinner with Luo Yi. If Ling Feng arrived at night, she would be breaking her promise to Ji Ziming.

Ji Ziming was already unhappy about this matter, so if he were to be negligent at Luo Yi’s reception, he would probably be left speechless.

She was thinking about how to persuade Ling Feng to take the plane. In the worst case scenario, even if he only arrived in city A tomorrow, it would still be fine. However, before he could speak, Ling Feng continued,””What’s wrong? I’m just a little afraid of heights, and it’s not a very far distance. I think it’s good to take the high-speed rail. Do you have any concerns?”

When she heard him say that he took the high-speed rail because he was afraid of heights, her heart softened for some reason. Hence, she looked at Ji Ziming with a troubled expression before finally gritting her teeth and saying,””Alright, then you can take the high-speed rail. What time would he arrive? I’ll pick you up in advance. ”

Ling Feng was satisfied and proudly said,””Around seven in the evening. I’ll send you my phone number on WeChat. I’ll send you my location when I arrive. You have to treat me to a good meal tonight. ”

At this moment, PEI GE saw Ji Ziming’s handsome face turn darker, so she did not have the heart to argue with Ling Feng. She hurriedly said,””Alright, alright, I know. I still have some things to do here. Don’t worry, I’ll definitely come and pick you up when you arrive. ”

Ling Feng chuckled smugly and agreed. The two then hung up the phone.

Seeing how submissive she was when she answered the phone, he immediately walked over and asked with concern,””Is it the designer you were talking about? Did something unexpected happen?”

She gripped her phone tightly and laughed dryly.”Yes, it’s him. No accidents, but …”

“Just say it, Pei Pei. I saw that you were acting a little unusual when you answered the phone just now. Are you still trying to hide something from me?” He had run out of patience as he grabbed her arm.

‘Ziming, I really didn’t do it on purpose. It’s just that I received a call from that designer earlier. He said that he didn’t take a plane because he’s afraid of heights and took the high-speed rail instead, so I might have to postpone the arrival time to dinner. “This way, our welcome party with Luo Yi will be …” She looked at him apologetically with her watery eyes.

Ji Ziming’s already sullen face felt as if a Pagoda had collapsed in his heart the moment he heard that PEI GE would miss Luo Yi’s welcoming banquet.

With a stiff face, he twitched the corner of his mouth and murmured,””Pei Pei, you said you wanted to hire a designer, and I promised you. You said you would pick her up and not pick Luo Yi up with me, and I also promised you. But now you’re even missing Luo Yi’s dinner. That designer, you only have business dealings with him. Promise me, let me send Linda to pick him up, okay? Don’t worry, Linda is very careful, she won’t mess up. ”

She was put in an even more difficult position.”Ziming, it’s not that I … Aiya, I told you that it’s not that I have to pick him up. It’s because he insisted that I pick him up that he agreed to take part in this design. It’s not easy to find a designer who fits the theme and style. You also know that partners and talents are hard to come by. He’s always been eccentric, and if I break his promise on this matter, how can he put in his full effort for our cooperation in the future?”

As she said that, she grabbed his arm and looked at him with pleading eyes.””Ziming, since it’s already like this, why don’t you just agree? Don’t worry, I’ll settle him down as soon as possible and then come back to have dinner with you. What do you think?”

The man’s brows furrowed deeply. He was actually really angry, but what made him angrier was that she was actually coaxing and pestering him over a designer who had nothing to do with her. He silently closed his eyes and thought to himself, in the future, I’ll personally see who this designer that made her lower her status to such an extent is.

In the end, he sighed and replied,””Alright, I can’t argue with you. I know that you’ve already made up your mind. If I object, you’ll definitely come after me again. Since you’ve already made your decision, I have nothing to say. Go, I’ll explain to Luo Yi. I’m sure you’re not in the mood to book a restaurant or a gift with me now. You can go and do your thing, I can handle these things myself. ”

With that, he slowly removed her hand from his arm. He tidied his clothes and walked towards the main entrance dejectedly.

PEI GE knew that he was going to pick Luo Yi up at the airport. She pursed her red lips tightly as she watched Ji Ziming’s back disappear into the distance. Suddenly, she rolled her eyes and called out to him,””Ziming, don’t forget about buying flowers for Luo Yi!”

“I know, you don’t need to worry!” Although the man responded to her advice, his tone was clearly filled with dissatisfaction as he walked toward the car park without looking back.

“Sigh, I really didn’t want to. There’s nothing you can do if you’re angry. I’ll think of a way to make it up to you when Luo Yi is in China. I don’t want to disappoint senior brother Changqing either. You can’t have your cake and eat it too. ” With that, she drooped her head and listlessly walked upstairs. She did not even have the appetite to finish her breakfast.
