“Sigh, really, why did you drop the ball at such a critical moment! Broken phone! Hmph!” She stomped her foot and stuffed her phone into her pocket when it suddenly turned black.

She continued to squat on the reef and waited anxiously in the direction that the man had left with her hands under her chin.

The early winter sea breeze blew for a long time, and the coolness became stronger.

PEI GE’s hands were cold. Coupled with the fact that she had not eaten anything, she felt even more tired and hungry.

Ji Ziming had already left for quite some time, but he was still nowhere to be seen. Feeling a little anxious, she could only stand up and pace back and forth by the reef. In the distance, the shadows of The House by the Sea seemed to appear distant yet near at times.

!!

After an unknown period of time, she got tired of waiting and fell asleep on the rock.

At this moment, he seemed to smell the aroma of grilled fish in his daze!

She thought it was a dream, so she swallowed her saliva.

However, the smell was so strong that it felt real. When she opened her eyes, she saw him holding two grilled fish and waving them in front of her.

“Pei Pei, are you hungry? Let’s see if this grilled fish is fragrant or not. Quickly get up and eat!” He looked at the two grilled fish in front of him with shining eyes and curled his lips into a teasing smile.

All her sleepiness was gone as she looked at the two grilled fish in his hands, mesmerized. She opened her mouth and then gulped.

She then looked up curiously at him and asked,””Ji Ziming, you’ve been gone for so long; did you go to get these two fish?”

“Here you go. Take it, try it and see how it tastes.” As he said this, he passed a fish to her, gesturing for her to quickly try it.

She was a little suspicious, but with her stomach rumbling with hunger, she could not care less. Taking the grilled fish, she took a big bite of the fish’s stomach.

“How is it? How’s the taste?” The way she was famished made him want to dote on her.

“MHM, MHM …” She was probably really famished. Having never had such a delicious grilled fish before, she nodded her head repeatedly and bit into the deliciousness in her mouth. She only looked at him suspiciously and awkwardly, not giving any comment.

He smiled lovingly at her fondly eating and reached out to stroke her head.””Eat slowly. There’s another one here. Be careful of its bones.”

She only stopped when she saw that he was still holding the fish in his hand and did not move his mouth. She used her hand to wipe the fish residue from his mouth and asked timidly,””You’re not eating? I’m actually full after eating this. ”

His heart seemed to melt at her concerned look. He smiled and said,””You’re not angry?”

PEI GE quickly lowered her head and turned the fish that was only left with its big bones.””Now that things have come to this, if I can beat you or scold you to return, then I will definitely do so. The problem is that it’s useless to hit or scold you now, so why don’t I save my energy and think of a way to go back later? Besides, you’ve worked so hard to get me food. I’m a man of principle, so don’t think of me as such a petty person. ”

She rolled her eyes at him and continued eating the fish in her hand.

The man did not say anything and merely watched her eat the fish. He broke into a smile that was as gentle as the sea breeze.

She felt a little embarrassed when he looked at her eating the fish with such affection. She turned her body slightly and said,””Hurry up and eat your fish. It won’t taste good when it’s cold.”

Ji Ziming was stunned. He looked at the fish in his hand and mumbled,””O-okay, I’ll eat it.”

The two of them were probably starving. After a while, only the bones of the two fish were left, and they were thrown onto the reef nearby.

She leaned against the rock and asked,””Ji Ziming, did you go to those wooden houses to buy fish from the fishermen?”

“Yes, I’m going to try my luck. I’ve stayed in a similar fishing village for a while before, so I know that if they go out to sea and get something, there might be fish to eat.” He leaned against a rock and looked at the sea in the distance.

Of course, she was curious and continued to ask,””You … Lived in the fishing village? Is it to experience life?”

“Of course not.” He laughed involuntarily.”If I tell you that I’m here to look for you, will you believe me?”

Her eyes widened in shock as she tilted her head and asked with a frown,””Don’t tell me that you went to the fishing village to look for me after I was taken away by Shen Feng?”

She pointed at herself in disbelief.

“Yes, that’s right,” He said firmly as he looked at her with deep eyes that seemed to be filled with tenderness.

She laughed dryly and put her hands down before leaning back on the rock.””Ha, how touching. The CEO of the Ji group went to live in a fishing village just to find a woman.”

“Pei Pei, what did Shen Feng tell you about me? If you don’t remember the past, why didn’t you see a psychiatrist? Do you just believe everything he says? Don’t you have a little nostalgia for our past?” He could not help but ask when he saw her look as if she was joking.

The corners of her mouth twitched slightly, but she did not look at him.””If the past was really worth remembering, why would I choose to forget it when I was sick? Didn’t people always want to remember good things? Let’s not talk about this topic anymore. It’ll only add to our sorrow. Now that I’m Shen Feng’s woman, you shouldn’t have any more fantasies about me. Besides, you have so many outstanding women around you, there’s no need to give up the entire forest for me. ”

He let out a resentful laugh. It was a fake smile that made one’s heart ache for him and feel a little terrified.

“Can I borrow your phone? My phone ran out of battery and turned off. ” She paused for a moment before continuing. She still remembered that the most important thing right now was not to stay in this place with him. If she stayed any longer, she was afraid that he would get physical with her again.

Ji Ziming returned to his senses and listlessly took out his phone from his pocket.

PEI GE looked at his usual cold face and hesitated for a moment before taking the phone.

She thought that even if she said something unpleasant, it would be better than giving him no hope of a future. Some things should be dealt with quickly, or else both of them would suffer in the future.

She took the phone and was about to ask him for the password to unlock it when a call came in. The name displayed was “Luo Yi!”
