Provocative Fiery Wife: My Superior is a Affectionate Spitfire Chapter 1697 – If you are not, why are you helping her?

Chapter 1697: If you are not, why are you helping her?

After Ji Ziming said that, the person in bed no longer reacted to him.

“Ge Ge, can you still hear me speak?”

His eyes lingered on the woman’s pale face. His heart ached and the anger deep inside him burned his remaining rationality. He stood up and took another look at Pei Ge before heading to the balcony outside the floor-to-ceiling windows and calling someone.

It was someone whom he had not contacted in a long while, but the person still picked it up speedily.

“Hey, why are you finally giving me a call?”

A familiar male came from the other end, and it seemed to be as comforting as before.

“I have something to talk to you about.”

His voice was as aloof as ever. Before the person could speak, he told him everything that he wanted the other to do. A long silence ensued and ended with a ‘sure’.

Ji Ziming hung up the call and returned to Pei Ge’s side. The latter was terrifyingly still. He was unused to this, not hearing her nagging.

“Recover soon; I’ll listen to whatever you say next time.”

He looked at the time on his watch; it was already 10 PM, yet it seemed that the banquet downstairs was getting livelier, instead. He turned to look at the woman again.

“I’ll be back in a jiffy.”

He would definitely find the cruel person who had done this to her!

“Sir, why are you out?”

He Yun, who was standing outside the presidential suite, asked this in surprise to the man when he saw him exiting the room.

“Take good care of your madam; I’ll go to the banquet to check it.”

He looked down; there was a huge crowd below.

“Understood. Go ahead, sir; I’ll get someone to take care of the madam.”

“Mhm.”

Ji Ziming walked down the staircase. He did not take the elevator this time around because he wanted to see who was the most ambitious among these notable families and great clans.

Qu Jingwan was the first to see him coming down the stairs, but she merely sat on the orange sofa and sipped her wine. The alcohol lingering on her lips successfully attracted numerous playboys, who approached her to deliberate on the supposed meaning of life.

She wore a red, short skirt which revealed her ample cleavage; her red lips were inviting, especially when matched by her luscious curls which reached shoulders. She was enchanting with her fair legs, and this was enough for the men around her to drool.

“Miss Qu, when are you free to play in my house?”

“Aye… How could she go to your house? Why don’t you come to my mountain villa, instead? I have everything there except you.”

“What mountain villa? Does she like thrilling games? I can help you find some.”

…

The men’s words were utterly contemptible as their hands itched. Looking at her fair thighs, they had the urge to conquer her somewhere to show their male prowess.

“Didn’t your parents tell you that the prettier a woman is, the more you shouldn’t touch her?”

The lady gave them a terrifying smile.

She exuded a frosty aura that distanced herself from them; even her red lips appeared horrifying as though she were feeding on blood. The bright lights in the banquet hall were shining on her, making her look especially eye-catching.

A beauty like her should not be sitting with these sleazy men.

“Oh, you’re just a woman whom Ji Ziming doesn’t want anymore, so what are you acting like a chaste woman here for?”

“Take a look at yourself; how dare you say that you are top quality? I don’t think you’re that. If you’re really that, you wouldn’t be punished by us.”

“Your coquettish display is merely like this. Let’s go guys; is there still a need to play with a woman like her?”

…

Qu Jingwan was betting if the person watching this from afar would help her.

Perhaps the banquet hall was too chaotic, or the person did not intend to help her; perhaps she was overthinking things…

Ji Ziming merely looked coolly at this and did not intend to help her at all.

His high-and-mighty look made her heart turn cold. She helped him yesterday, yet today, he was unwilling to do anything for her—not even coming over to say ‘get lost’.

“Sir, it seems that Miss Qu has encountered some problem…”

The head of the staff looked in the direction Ji Ziming was looking and saw three sleazy men around the lady.

“Do you want me to head over—”

The subordinate thought that he cared about the lady deep inside, but he was rejected by the man heartlessly in the next second.

“How are you related to her?”

“Ah?”

He could not react to that question immediately, thinking that the man had spoken wrongly.

“I said: ‘How are you related to her?’”

His voice was icy cold and unfathomable.

“I’m n-not…”

The head of the staff stammered; it was only then that he realized that the man was not as gentle as he looked earlier. Even if he were, that was only reserved for Pei Ge. He would only show his gentle side to his wife.

“If you’re not, why are you helping her?”

Ji Ziming turned around and stopped looking at Qu Jingwan. The cold aura around him puzzled the subordinate.

Which side of his boss was the real him?

“But you can go check on her. If something happens in our hotel, it won’t be nice for it to get out.”

“Yes, sir; I’ll go have a look now.”

He finally understood that it was not that the boss was unconcerned about Qu Jingwan but was merely using another method to care. Thinking of it this way, he waited for the man to head to the center of the banquet hall before he went to the lady’s side and drove away her harassers. He then said, “Miss Qu, the CEO got me to come see if you need any help.”

“The CEO?”

Qu Jingwan snorted and did not believe that the man had truly sent this person over himself.

“Then, go tell your boss that I don’t need his help.”

This subordinate was surprised to see a lady with the same personality as his boss.
