Provocative Fiery Wife: My Superior is a Affectionate Spitfire Chapter 1494 – You only need to be my wife.

Chapter 1494: You only need to be my wife.

“What are you afraid of? No matter what happens, just remember that you have me to settle all those troublesome matters.” Ji Ziming looked at his woman. The endearment in his gaze caused Pei Ge’s beautiful eyes to become moist.

“If I let you settle everything, what do I do then?”

“You only need to be my wife.” He curled his thin lips, and this was reflected in the woman’s eyes. “My wife doesn’t need to show herself that much and just has to do what she wants. No matter what, I will support you.”

“You…” Pei Ge was touched. She thought that he had long gotten over these feelings after their five years of separation. She did not expect to still have a special place in his heart.

“What about me? If you want to thank me, then don’t bother.”

“Who said that I wanted to thank you? Stop dreaming; What I wanted to tell you is that Zhang may get back at you for doing that to him. A scheming person will always have tricks up his sleeves. How can a gentleman like you protect yourself from his ploys?”

“Are you worried about me?” The man turned to look at her with love-filled eyes as his thin lips moved. “Your worry is redundant, though. Who am I? He’s just a disloyal guy whom no one dares to hire. What can he do to me?”

“Are you that confident?” She was still slightly worried initially, but it seemed that her concern was truly superfluous.

“Even if I give him the guts, he won’t dare to do anything to me.”

“Wait till he truly does something to you, and you’ll regret it, then.” She turned to look outside the window.

“You’re worried about me.”

“I’m not.” She tried to explain herself, but the man was certain about this and simply treated it as her not wishing to admit it in front of others.

He Yun drove the car steadily, and they soon reached the Ji mansion.

“Slowly; in the meantime, you must pretend to be pregnant.” The man held her hand and stopped her from getting out of the car ahead of him.

“I…” Pei Ge was in a difficult spot. She had no idea now how to tell the man’s mother that she was actually not pregnant. With him making the matter worse, it increased her difficulty of interacting with his mother.

“Trust me; I have my reasons for making you do this.” The glint in his eyes made her take a deep breath. The confidence in her also started to accumulate when she saw the look in his eyes.

“Alright. I’ll believe in you.”

“Wait till I get out of the car, then you can exit it.” Ji Ziming shot a glance at his mother who was coming out of the mansion, and the corners of his lips curled. “On second thought, you don’t have to wait for me to get out before you do.”

“What do you mean?” The woman did not understand his words at first, but as she followed his gaze, she saw his mother just three meters away from them and got it.

“You guys are back! My good, unborn grandchild, come and get out of the car; you’re home.” Madam Ji smiled as she opened the door for Pei Ge. Her eyes could no longer contain her happiness as it crept up her brows. She appeared to be welcoming the baby in the tummy more than the one carrying it.

“Auntie, you don’t have to carry me; I can walk on my own.” She wanted to decline the older woman’s helping hands but was helpless as the latter held her too tightly and refused to let go.

“That won’t do; you’re the most important member of our family now. How can I not take care of you more? Listen to me and let’s go inside.”

“Mommy, mommy, you’re back!” Ran Ran, who was playing in the living room, saw her mother at the entrance and excitedly dashed out. “Where have you been the whole day? I missed you a lot.”

“Daughter, be good. Mommy and daddy went out for a walk today. Were you obedient while we were away? Did you listen to your grandma’s words?”

“I’ve always been obedient, but my second brother was too naughty. He dirtied my snow-white dress but didn’t want to compensate me.” The girl blinked her large eyes at her mother, with seeming tears welling up in them. “Mommy, help me punish that big bully; he’s so annoying, and I can’t even beat him.”

“Alright, alright, alright. Let’s go inside. I’ll go take a look at how your second brother bullied you.” Pei Ge held her daughter’s hand, but before they could take two steps, she was stopped by the older woman, who ran up to them.

Madam Ji took the girl’s hand. “My granddaughter, be good; your mommy has a little life inside her right now so she can’t walk fast. I’ll accompany you instead in checking how your second brother bullied you, alright?”

“I don’t want grandma; I want mommy.” All of a sudden, tears were about to fall from the girl’s large eyes, and it made her mother’s heart ache.

“It’s alright, auntie; I’m only going in with her—nothing will happen.”

“That won’t do. You’re in a fragile state right now, and since that’s the case, you must listen to me.” The older woman was unwilling to give in.

“Just listen to my mom’s words.” Ji Ziming walked over and gently circled his arm around his woman’s waist. “It won’t go wrong if you listen to her; I’ll go take a look with our daughter.

“Daughter, daddy will go look at your second brother with you; is that alright? If he indeed bullied you, I’ll help you teach him a lesson.” He squatted and carried the skinny girl in his arms.

“Really?” The girl widened her eyes as she stared at her father in disbelief, but for now, she could only depend on him to deal with Ji Chi.

“Really. When has I lied to you? Never. Anyway, let’s go; I’ll bring you to settle scores with your brother.”

“Okay. Then, you must make your words count.” She circled her arms around her father’s neck before turning to look at her mother and saying sweetly, “Mommy, you and Grandma can walk slowly. You need to protect the little baby in your tummy.”

“See, Pei Ge; even your daughter knows that you should be careful of the precious one in your stomach. Come, let’s get inside. I made a nutritious soup for you, and it’s very suitable for the baby.”

Madam Ji watched her granddaughter be brought inside by Ji Ziming and smilingly pulled Pei Ge’s hand. “Be careful now; come, let’s follow them inside.”

Seeing the older woman helping her walk so enthusiastically, Pei Ge’s guilt began to consume her. She was clearly not pregnant but had to pretend to be one. Even though she did not know what the man’s plan was, she was willing to believe him.

“Auntie, I can walk on my own; you don’t need to help me.”

“That’s fine, too; be careful; watch your steps and try to walk slowly.”
