Provocative Fiery Wife: My Superior is a Affectionate Spitfire Chapter 1475 – Who is threatening whom?

Chapter 1475: Who is threatening whom?

“You’re really despicable!” Qu Jingwan clenched her fists. She had not expected the other to use that matter to threaten her.

“We’re the same; this is called ‘an eye for an eye,’ my dear. It seems like your comprehension isn’t that great.” Pei Ge, who was leaning against the sofa, was very satisfied with the other’s reaction. The more this lady gnashed her teeth, the more likely she would jump into her trap.

“Hmph! I’m not that despicable. You actually dared to use pregnancy to trick auntie. From that alone, she’ll chase you out!”

“Then, if she learns that you drugged her son and are after their family’s wealth, do you think she won’t chase you out, too?”

“You! You… What are you trying to say?” The lady was so infuriated that she almost coughed up blood. She could only surrender to her because her weakness was in the latter’s hands. “Say it, if I can, I’ll do it.”

“Very simple, just don’t let the doctor know that I’m faking my pregnancy. I’ll find time to talk to auntie about my fake pregnancy, so you don’t have to worry about it.”

“You’ll really say it?”

“Other than believing me, do you have other options right now?”

“You!”

As Madam Ji and the doctor’s chattering drew nearer, Qu Jingwan contemplated and said, “Doc, come have a look at how the child in Pei Ge’s tummy is. Is it in any danger?”

Pei Ge’s eyes darkened. Could it be that this lady wanted to fight it out with her and get chased out of the family with her?

“That’s right, Dr. Duanmu; quickly have a look at her. See if she’s alright.”

The older woman hurriedly pushed forward the doctor, who was standing at the back. Sitting on the sofa, Pei Ge shot the lady and the doctor a glance. She was nervous inside. Would she have to be responsible for the fake pregnancy today?

“Doc, is she all right?” Qu Jingwan bent her waist and pinched the doctor’s hand. Madam Ji, who was standing behind the doctor, did not see this.

Pei Ge did, though, and knew at once that her threat had worked on the lady. At least, the latter was standing on her side now.

The doctor lifted his head slightly to look at Qu Jingwan, and upon meeting her eyes, he understood.

“Rest assured that there’s nothing wrong with her.”

“Really? You must thoroughly check her. She fell from the stairs. Look at her arms and legs—they’re all covered in bruises. Is the baby in her stomach really okay?”

“Nothing is wrong, ma’am; believe me. I won’t lie to you.”

“As long as the baby is fine, everything will be well.”

“Thank you, doc.” Standing at Pei Ge’s side, Qu Jingwan smiled. Her eye-signal baffled the man.

“Auntie, since there’s nothing wrong with our pregnant family member, please stay here as I send the doctor out.” The lady smiled sweetly.

“Alright. Go see him out, and I’ll do that. You honestly scared me earlier.” Madam Ji walked to Pei Ge’s side and sat down. “Are you truly all right?”

“I am; be at ease, auntie.” She looked behind the older woman and saw the lady shooting her a cold glance, as though showing off. “We’ll have to trouble you in sending the doctor out.”

“It’s no trouble; no trouble at all. Auntie, I’ll see the doctor out now.” Qu Jingwan accompanied Dr. Duanmu out of the living room. When they were near the entrance, she said, “Doc, I won’t short-change you of your benefits, but you must also know what you should do now.”

“I know; I know. I guarantee that I won’t say anything, so don’t worry.”

“I’m not sure if I should worry, but just in case the Ji family asks you about your relationship with me, you know what to say. If they ask about your relationship with Pei Ge, just say it yourself. What should you say then?”

“This…” He was unsure before why this lady wanted him to say that that woman inside was pregnant, but he was clear about it now.

“I know; I know. I don’t know any Miss Qu and the only reason I said that Miss Pei is pregnant is because she sought me ahead of time. Everything I said was according to her instruction. It’s got nothing to do with you.” Beads of perspiration covered Dr. Duanmu’s forehead. Now, he knew that this lady did not ask him here to check if that woman inside was pregnant but to use him in attacking the other.

“Your words are interesting but logical.” Qu Jingwan paused and stood at the entrance. Her red lips parted to issue an evil laugh, which made the doctor shudder.

“Miss Qu need not see me out further; my car is right over there.” He wiped the sweat off his head. If he did not get in his car fast enough, his back would be soaked in perspiration.

“Alright. Drive safely. If there’s anything with that woman next time, I’ll come looking for you.” The lady flipped her curly hair to emphasize this point.

“Okay… Okay, okay…” He now regretted taking this lady’s two-million deposit.

“Thanks for coming. I’ll transfer the remaining two million to your account, so you don’t need to worry.”

“Alright. Thank you; thank you…” The doctor quickly opened his car and used the keys to start the engine. The smile on Qu Jingwan’s red lips made his back sweaty, and even though the aircon was on, he still sweated profusely.

“That evil woman!” He hit his steering wheel. The pain from his joint pulled his rationale. It would be difficult for him to work smoothly with the Ji family now.

Guilt rose in his heart at the thought of this family’s patriarch, but when he thought of the remaining two million, his blood surged. This was a sum that he could not earn even from his one year of service to the Ji family.

The car drove farther and farther away from this mansion and slowly disappeared into the distance on the wide, asphalt road.

Going back inside, Qu Jingwan saw the two ladies together and her mood became great. “Hey, thank God you’re alright. Let me pour you a cup of water to calm your nerves.”

“See how she has torn her skin from falling. My heart aches at the sight of it.” The older woman carefully extended Pei Ge’s arm, and the heartache in her voice did not sound false.

“Oh, I forgot. Earlier, the doctor said that he’ll get someone to send Pei Ge’s medicine. Since she’s pregnant right now, the medicine in his medical kit couldn’t be used. He went back to get you the right medication. Don’t be anxious; the medicine will be sent here fast.”

“Really?”

“Really, auntie; don’t worry.”
