Provocative Fiery Wife: My Superior is a Affectionate Spitfire Chapter 1228 – I took care of it all these years just to wait for you.

Chapter 1228: I took care of it all these years just to wait for you.

“You are happier to see it than me.”

Ji Ziming felt jealous at once when he saw how happily she carried the fat Ragdoll cat in her arms.

This stupid woman had been treating him like air and was even hostile toward him ever since she came back, yet she was actually treating this fat cat so well. How could he not be jealous?

In fact, he was even a little envious of it!

“Mhm!”

Pei Ge nodded without hesitation, happily asking, “Why is Pudding here?”

Elated from seeing the cat, she totally forgot the fact that she was being locked up here by the man.

It was understandable, though.

She treated this cat as family yet failed to bring it with her when she left back then.

While she was overseas, she missed it terribly.

Hence, once she could, she had some people look for it.

However, those she had sent never found it, yet it actually appeared here today!

“What do you think?”

The man raised an eyebrow as he threw the question back at her.

She widened her eyes in disbelief as she regarded him.

“Don’t tell me…

“You’ve been taking care of it all along?!”

She herself could not believe it after she said it aloud.

“That’s not right. The last time I went to our—” She realized what she was about to say and quickly stopped herself.

Glossing over it, she continued. “The last time I went to the place you and Pei Ge stayed in, why didn’t I see it?”

This question made the man tug his lips as he swept his gaze coldly past the cat.

“This stupid cat doesn’t dare to stay in such a huge house by itself at night.”

“…”

It was mind-blowing for her to hear that.

What?! Does he know what he’s saying?!

What does he mean by that? Isn’t that a little too smug?!

“Meow!”

As though it understood the man’s disdain for it, the cat meowed in seeming expression of its dissatisfaction.

The man and cat’s interaction made her burst out laughing.

She had truly not expected him to do such a thing.

She knew how unfeeling he was toward small animals. Thus, it was unthinkable for him to take care of this cat…

“How long have you… been taking care of it?”

She looked at him, feeling complicated inside. She vaguely guessed the reason this man had been caring for the cat.

“Five years.”

He fixed his eyes on her.

Yes, he had taken care of this cat for five years.

Initially, he was only hoping that she would return to look for it.

However, slowly, he realized that he and the cat were in the same pitiful state…

“You…”

Although she had already guessed the answer, she was still stunned when he said it himself.

“Pei Ge, I’ve taken care of it not because I like it but because I like you and because… I was waiting for you.

“I thought that, even if you didn’t return to look for me, you’d return to look for it. That’s why… I continued taking care of it.”
