Time just seemed to fly as it had already been three months since Pei Ge gave birth to her children.

The past two months had not been long, yet there was enough time for many things to happen.

In these two months, she diligently nursed herself back to health as she heeded her doctor’s and nutritionist’s advice.

Similarly, her children were well taken care of by experienced nurses and nutritionists.

Although they were slightly weaker than other babies their age, their conditions considerably improved compared to when they were just born.

“Look; our little Ran Ran is becoming prettier as she grows up! Our pair of babies is honestly the cutest and most lovable out there!”

Ever since Tang Xiaoyu came the previous time, she would occasionally visit her best friend in Cambridge.

Following her words, Pei Ge smiled as she looked at the infants sleeping in their cribs. Gentleness filled her eyes and she exuded motherly love.

Although these infants were barely over three months old, their facial features were becoming more defined by the day.

Their features were exquisite. This was especially so for their eyes, which were big and black, just like round grapes. Simply put, they were as adorable as dolls.

The average children could not outmatch this pair of brother and sister as they were just born too beautiful.

Just as the two women were watching the babies sleep contentedly, Little Ran Ran started wailing when her pacifier fell out of her mouth.

The two could not react in time because it happened too fast, but they soon saw the Little An An by the girl’s side remove his pacifier.

His fair, chubby arm lifted the pacifier and intuitively put it in his wailing sister’s mouth.

At once, the girl stopped crying and narrowed her large, watery eyes. She then started suckling on it contentedly.

Meanwhile, upon seeing that his sister had stopped crying, the boy continued to lie down quietly beside her as he played with his own fingers.

Witnessing this, the two women could not help but laugh.

This little rascal was clearly only three months old; how could he be so dramatic? It was as though he were a small adult who knew how to think!

“Ha ha! Look at our An An; he already knows how to take care of his sister at such a young age!”

Tang Xiaoyu burst out laughing at the two babies’ interaction.

Seeing her best friend practically bursting with joy, Pei Ge nodded smilingly.

This was actually not the first time that the boy had taken care of his sister like a small adult.

Although they were slightly over three months old, this pair of brother and sister’s relationship was evidently close.

“That’s right. Wait till they’re older; I’ll feel at ease to let him take care of our baby girl.”

The woman smiled at her pair of beautiful and obedient children. Although her daughter was especially weak, she considered the girl and her brother as godsent, as well as the world’s cutest and most adorable children.

Whenever she looked at them, she could not help but think of the child who was no longer in this world.

“If only… Ping An were here, that would be wonderful… Then, Ran Ran would have another older brother who loved her, while An An would have another cute younger brother…”

Gazing at the cherubim sleeping in their cots, she inadvertently thought of the child whom she was not fated to be with.

“Why are you thinking of him again? How many times must I tell you not to act like this? The children are still young, so they don’t know what you’re talking about, but once they’re older, it won’t be appropriate to hear you mention him often.” Her best friend pursed her lips at her mention of her lost child.

“Think about how much pain you were in when you lost Ping An. Do you think your little ones will feel any better if they learn that they lost a brother upon birth?”

Seeing that she was lost in her thoughts, the other woman sighed softly. “Just pretend that you… gave birth to twins.”

She curled her lips bitterly at her best friend’s advice.

“It’s indeed my mistake. I… I won’t mention him in front of them again…” Tears flowed from her eyes as she said this.

“Look! Why are you crying? Haven’t we already agreed about this? Your eyes can’t take anymore crying from you!”

Tang Xiaoyu’s head ached as she passed her some tissue.

“Wipe your tears quickly and stop crying. You’re so blessed as you gave birth to a cute pair of son and daughter. Plus, many of the people around you care for you. Your life is very great now, so why are you still crying…”

She looked at her with envy.

She really envied her.

So many people liked her best friend. Even though she had experienced some misfortunes, this woman’s life was still full of bliss—unlike her who could not be loved…

“How is my life great? You’re the one who has a great life here,” countered the other after wiping her tears away.

She changed the topic when she heard her best friend say that.

“Are you really planning to visit auntie before your daughter’s surgery?”

Just as she asked that, the other’s expression grew serious.

“Yes. I’m thinking of… bringing my babies to meet their grandmother,” replied the other softly.

“Aye. Actually, you’re just doing this because of a dream. It’s just a dream. Must you really trouble yourself so much when auntie isn’t even awake?”

At her best friend’s affirmation, she shook her head.

She still felt that it was ridiculous for the other to bring the kids over to Zhang Manhua all because of a dream.

“No, you have no idea. That dream was so realistic.”

In that dream, her mother expressed her desire to see the two kids…
