“Yes, I’ll go there with you guys.”

Outside the window, the spring wind blew past a lively scene.

As she gazed at the lines of green trees and beds of flowers, Pei Ge felt endless hope sprout in her.

“It’s nice to know that you finally agreed to come with us!”

Tang Xiaoyu’s lips curled into a radiant smile from sheer happiness and excitement.

Gu Zhengrong felt, though, that her smile seemed to be slightly strange.

Although he, too, hoped that his beloved woman would come with them to America…

“To New York…”

The brows of the woman in bed slightly furrowed in seeming contemplation.

“What’s the matter? Are you having second thoughts about coming with us? If it’s because of auntie, rest assured; Berlin isn’t very far from New York! You can go visit her there any time!”

Thinking that her best friend was considering accompanying Zhang Manhua to Germany, instead, Tang Xiaoyu quickly mentioned the advantages of being with them.

“You have your life. On top of not having anyone or knowing anything in that country, you can’t even speak German. If it’s in New York, you have me and Zhengrong to take care of you; plus, you’re already very fluent in English, so I strongly recommend that you come with us instead of with auntie…”

The furrow between the other woman’s brows relaxed at how active her best friend was in persuading her. In lieu, gentleness appeared in her eyes.

Tang Xiaoyu is right, and I also intend to do just that…

“Ge Ge, Ge Ge, what’s bothering you? You’re spacing out!” Her best friend apparently realized that her mind was elsewhere.

Returning to her senses at her best friend’s call, she looked at the latter with a gentle gaze.

“Alright. I’ll go with you guys.”

The latter, who was about to continue speaking, froze when she heard this.

She looked at her in disbelief before exclaiming in shock, “Huh? What did you just say? Did I hear you say that you’ll come with us?!”

Will she really?

She was prepared to keep persuading her; unexpectedly, the latter actually easily agreed!

This caused her to be unable to react in time.

“Yes. You heard me right.”

Pei Ge lightly nodded with a smile.

Her confirmation also caused Gu Zhengrong’s face to break into a smile.

Although he did not know why his girlfriend would suddenly proactively convince this woman whom he cherished deeply into coming with them, he was still happy at the prospect of being closer to her.

“That’s great!”

Tang Xiaoyu happily pounced toward her best friend, but before she could reach her, she was stopped by the other two.

Both arms of the woman in bed were stretched out, as though afraid that she would bump into her tummy.

Meanwhile, the man had subconsciously pulled her back from pouncing on Pei Ge.

“Don’t be so careless. Her body is still weak.”

“Oh…”

She felt uncomfortable upon hearing this.

Still, seeing that her best friend’s face was truly still pale, her bit of unhappiness was immediately replaced by worry and guilt.

Her best friend had never done anything wrong. The person in the wrong had always been her.

She was wrong for loving someone she should not have, and she was wrong for longing for a guy she should not have.

“However, while I’ll be coming with you guys to the U.S., I won’t be living in with you.”

Her best friend smiled at her.

“Huh? What did you say?”

She was totally nonplussed.

What did she mean by that?

“I won’t be going to New York.”

“Didn’t you say that you’ll come with us? Why are you saying that you won’t now?”

This utterly confused her, and she was unable to fathom what she meant.

“Probably, I’ll go to Cambridge.”

Pei Ge lips curled up upon revealing this. She seemed to have just thought of something.

Her smile stunned the other woman.

“Why are you going to Cambridge?”

“Of course, it’s to study,” she softly replied without qualms.

Her response stunned not just the woman but also the man.

“Study?”

Tang Xiaoyu’s voice croaked as her eyes became filled with confusion.

“Yes, study.”

She nodded. She recalled the offer of Prof. William, whom she had kept in contact with.

Before, she did not agree to his earnest invitation.

Although she had wanted to further her studies in Harvard even before, she had never expected that, one day, she would really go there to study.

She had never dared to entertain such unrealistic thoughts; now, she…

“Are you crazy? At this age, what else can you study? Not mentioning how hard it is to get into a university there, the tuition fee alone is crippling. You…”

Tang Xiaoyu suddenly did not know what to say as she regarded her best friend with a complex look.

“It’s fine. You need not worry about the tuition fee.” Immediately after the woman spoke, her boyfriend contradicted her.

The man looked at the woman in bed with a light and gentle smile.

His girlfriend slightly pursed her lips at this gentle gaze of his and tightly squeezed her hands together.

“I think it’s best if you stay with us in New York, after all. You had experience working at a corporation, so you should be fine working at the company Zhengrong—”

Before she could finish her persuading her, the latter interjected.

“Thanks, but I’ve already decided. Rest assured; I know a teacher there, and he is quite familiar with the area…”
