Nix stepped onto the platform and gripped the lever.

He pulled the lever back and then let it release. Once again an image flashed in front of him.

/Alpha: Semmi: Who is it?

/Alpha: Chiba: Not so slow, Apprentice!

/Alpha: Nix: It’s Semmi.

/Alpha: Pon: You got this. Who are you going to pick?

/Alpha: Semmi: Already chosen. A melee dps like me, My void dagger is her primary weakness.

Without saying anything further she walked out to the center of the courtyard and looked at her target. “Karinda Ozu.”

The blue-robed figured nodded. “Begin.”

Both rogues flashed forward, blades slashing and blocking as they performed an intricate dance death. After a half-minute, Karinda broke off contact and retreated, her blood dripping freely onto the courtyard from several deep cuts.

Karinda has summoned [Veridian].

/Alpha: Nix: F*ck.

/Alpha: Fajii: Veridian? How did she get here?

A turquoise-colored butterfly floated into the air, circling the two fighters.

Nix felt the air around Pon heating up. “Don’t interfere.”

Karinda slashed both blades across the back on Semmi’s legs.

Semmi stumbled to the ground and rolled away from her attacker. Bleeding from several wounds she made it to her feet just as her opponent leaped in. The Gemini Thief dived to one side and tossed her mudpie at Karinda.

Semmi was bleeding from several bad wounds. Instead of retreating, Karinda just waited, her butterfly fluttering overhead.

“I won’t lose.” Semmi’s eyes stared through her opponent. “I SAID I WON’T!”

The blond officer spat blood onto the ground, both daggers held low. “Did you hear me?” Air exploded outward from Semmi, her opponent was sent tumbling head over heels.

Karinda climbed to her feet, squinting her eyes at the sudden brightness of the courtyard.

Semmi has unlocked her bloodline. [First Form: Shadow Archon]

Wings as black as night erupted from Semmi’s back, she blurred for a moment and then appeared next to Veridian. A quick movement of her dagger sliced the insect in half.

Veridian has been slain.

Semmi blocked Karinda’s counter-attack and then gripped her arm before pulling her skyward. At 20 meters she let her go, slashing both blades across her back. The Gemini thief flashed in and out twice more, each time cutting deep into her opponent’s flesh. The rogue slammed into the ground with a bone-jarring impact.

Karinda has been stunned.

Semmi shot straight into the sky, she seemed to pause in the air for an instant, then her wings curved and she banked into a steep dive.

At the last instant, the Shadow Archon leveled off, her dagger slashing completely through Karinda’s throat, sending a gruesome shower of blood into the air.

Karinda has been slain.

Karinda disappeared a moment later, but the splatter of blood did not.

Semmi landed lightly on the ground, her wings fading away.

Semmi approached the group, a smile on her pretty face.

The old mage stepped in front of her, his hand shaking slightly as he pulled a cloth from his inventory and gently wiped some of the blood from Semmi’s face. He pulled her close and embraced her. “You okay, Sem?”

Semmi nodded, her blond head tucked under his chin. “Yep.”

/Alpha: Wind: Beautiful wings, Sem. Now you’re ahead of me again.

/Alpha: Semmi: Fraid so.

/Alpha: Fajii: Thank you for killing that insect Semmi.

/Alpha: Semmi: Least I could do.

“Make your next choice.” A familiar voice spoke from the lever.

/Alpha: Nix: Fine. It better be me this time.

Nix stomped up to the lever, scowling at the man in blue. Everyone was getting in on the action! He grabbed the lever and pulled it once again.

By this time, no one was hanging back when he approached the platform. Nix made a sour face and stepped away from the lever.

/Alpha: Vooni: Who?

/Alpha: Nix: Chiba.

/Alpha: Chiba: Thank you, Apprentice.

/Alpha: Wind: Preferences?

/Alpha: Chiba: Doesn’t matter as long as it’s not a cleric. Only a fool fights those. A silver or gold weakness would be fine.

/Alpha: Semmi: There was a silver weakness in there, but…
