Chapter 470: (Title Hidden).

In the afternoon, Su Li had to leave for the press conference so she sent Su Bei to Xiao Luo’s apartment.

“About the thing in the morning, I … I was wrong, I shouldn’t have…” Su Li sincerely apologized.

But Xiao Luo didn’t even look at her. He just picked up Su Bei and cut her off, “Don’t apologize, you didn’t do anything wrong, it’s normal.”

What do you mean by normal?

Su Li was about to get annoyed, but then stopped herself and kept her head down. Even she, herself, couldn’t believe that she had just apologized to someone. However, her apology didn’t have any substantial effect, which made her feel even more ashamed.

“Be careful!”

She lightly admonished and walked out of the apartment. Along with Chai Zhiying and Luo Pingxiang, she rushed to the press conference.

Xiao Luo looked at the closed door, and his eyes fell on Su Bei. He smiled and asked, “Is Dad narrow-minded?”

“What does narrow-minded mean?” The little girl blinked her cute eyes and asked.

“Narrow-minded or short-sighted is a psychological state in which you’re not willing to accept opinions or beliefs and not let go of trivial matters. Just like things in love.” Xiao Luo explained.

The little girl shook her head. “Dad, what does ‘love’ mean? What does ‘short-sighted’ mean? ”

Her vocabulary inventory was not substantial and she was becoming even more confused.

Xiao Luo didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, “Forget it, let’s just watch cartoons.”

“Yey! I want to watch Logger Vick and Xiong Da Xiong Er!”

When watching cartoons was mentioned, Su Bei’s cheer was full of enthusiasm.

Su Li’s press conference was very lively, and it was being broadcasted live by Xia Hai Satellite TV and the Internet.

Xiao Luo sat on the sofa while he watched Su Li’s press conference in his phone. And Su Bei sat on his thigh watching cartoons on the TV.

Su Li was wearing an orange skirt and a red girdle around her waist. She wore a pair of black sneakers on her feet. Even while in her casual clothes, she was still breathtaking, especially her two jade-like legs — slender and white. As if juice would drip out if you pinch them ever so gently.

She stood on the red-carpet covered stage. All kinds of lights were flashing and reporters kept taking pictures of her.

“Let’s start answering questions. Please raise your hand before speaking. You, the lady in red, ask first.” Chai Zhiying was on stage holding a microphone.  She initiated the press conference.

The lady in red stood up and looked at Su Li on stage. “Miss Su, according to reliable sources, Huangpu has terminated your contract and is going to blacklist you. What are your thoughts on this matter?”

Su Li thought for a moment, then her red lips moved, “I am always grateful for Huangpu. Without them, there would be no me today.”

Chai Zhiying was very satisfied with this answer, and quietly gave Su Li a thumbs-up.

“I heard that Mr. Yang Yuanzhong, one of Huangpu’s shareholders, has been imprisoned. What is the connection between his imprisonment and Miss Su? In other words, is Miss Su the direct cause of his imprisonment? Is this why Huangpu chose to terminate your contract and block you upon the start of this scandal?”

Ms. Red was obviously an experienced reporter. She didn’t ask Su Li if she was married or not because she knew that someone would ask this question sooner or later. Hence, she wanted to discover more valuable and interesting pieces of news instead.

Su Li looked indifferent as she replied, “I am a person who doesn’t know how to please leaders, and I have offended many people virtually. But still, I am always grateful to Huangpu. I too just learned about Mr. Yang Yuanzhong’s imprisonment not long ago. As for the reason, I am not sure.”

“Her answer is quite clever.”

Xiao Luo couldn’t help but comment. In public, she can’t show her hatred to Huangpu. Otherwise, no one in the industry would dare to cooperate with her in the future.  Not to mention exposing the real reasons why Yang Yuanzhong got imprisoned. she must always take into account her own image and play Tai Chi (slow and controlled) on these issues.

After the lady in red finished, a tall male reporter followed.

The male reporter asked, “Miss Su, do you have any vision and plans for the future? ”

“I will continue to improve on my acting and singing, and strive to deliver even better works to the people.” Su Li replied.

The questioning continued with some trivial questions being thrown out, Su Li answered them all. Perhaps it was because the lady in red had started this train of thought, everyone realised that someone would definitely ask the question that was on everyone’s mind. Therefore, even after this circle of questioning, no one touched that topic, and chose to ask other questions for the purpose of discovering more news.

Chai Zhiying coughed,  “Time is almost up. Miss Li needs to go back and rest so we will be answering the final question.” She glanced at the crowd and fixed her eyes on a man. “Please ask, the man in black!”

The man stood up, took the microphone handed by the staff and asked, “Miss Su, what I want to ask is, are you really married? Or are those just gossip being hyped up by people with ulterior motives?”

Finally, the topic that everyone was most concerned about was asked.

Chai Zhiying was nervous because this question would determine if Su Li could shake off this scandal. Last night, she had told Su Li to bite the bullet and deny the claim. Therefore, as long as Su Li didn’t admit it, the crisis could be lifted.

When this question was asked, Su Li hesitated. The venue was almost dead silent at this time as they awaited her answer.

It was a tough choice for her to decide whether to admit or deny it!

For her future development, she should deny it in a heartbeat and maintain her present status, but now that she actually had to answer this question, she became hesitant. Because once she denied it, it meant telling everyone including ‘the one’ in Star Moon Bay Hotel now, that she was just playing a childish game of ‘marriage’, and she actually had no plans of living with him for the rest of her life.

She then started to recall the dribs and drabs that Xiao Luo had done for her these days, and felt some kind of emotion flowing in her heart.

During the entire duration of the conference, she looked like a cold iceberg, but she suddenly started laughing now.

The venue was thrown into an uproar. Everyone looked at each other and thought, What happened to Su Li? Her reaction is not quite right, shouldn’t she be nervous and uneasy? Why did she suddenly show such a… sweet and happy smile?

“Miss Su, did you hear my question clearly?” Asked the man.

Su Li came to her senses and finally answered the question succinctly, “I’m married!”

As soon as this answer came out, the venue turned mute, it was much more silent than before. If someone was to drop a needle right now, it could be heard clearly. No one expected such an answer.

Chai Zhiying almost stumbled on the ground. She looked at Su Li with doubts and grief. She was confused and couldn’t understand.  Why?
