The woman in his arms could always console his bleak heart, warm up his frozen body and make him feel loved.

Jing Yichen sounded slightly hoarse. Shangguan Ning, could instinctively feel a change in his emotions.

She turned around to face Jing Yichen. She held his face in her palms as she became anxious at the sight of his bleak eyes. “What is going on, Yichen? What happened?”

Shangguan Ning never restrained her emotions. She had no need to conceal her emotions in front of Jing Yichen.

Therefore, Jing Yichen could tell clearly how worried she became.

He liked that Shangguan Ning was simple and innocent and that he could feel her heart and read her mind.

He didn’t need to guess a thing. Nor did he need to ask about anything.

Jing Yichen lowered his head and dropped a kiss upon her forehead. He felt calm and under control now.

He wouldn’t let the shadow of his dark past fall on the woman he loved. He was used to bearing the pain on his own.

What happened in the past had nothing to do with Shangguan Ning. He could deal with everything by himself within no time.

“Baby, I am fine. I just learnt that someone has been deceiving me for a long time and I was quite upset about it. But now that I have seen you, I am fine. I feel happy as long as you continue to smile at me.”

Jing Yichen’s heart was moved. He couldn’t help but take one of her hands, put them on his lips and kiss it. He said, “I know.”
