Jing Yichen was indirectly saying that there was no way that the contract could be changed.

Because Shi Qinsghan only obeyed Jing Yichen and would only talk with Ji within the boundaries of the contract. He had no right to change it.

Ji Bo sat back on the black leather chair in depression, feeling that he had lost the battle.

Jing Yichen shook his head and burst into laughter. “You are the only person whom I show kindness towards. As for the others, I just let them be.”

He strode over and sat down next to Shangguan Ning. Then he pinched her cheek so that a red mark appeared on her tender face. He smiled.

“Are you so jealous and scared that I will be taken away by someone else?”

Shangguan Ning massaged her face and said in a nonchalant tone, “Anyone who wants to take you away from me…”

“Will have no way to return intact!”

Jing Yichen burst into laughter hearing what she said.

“No one would dare to take me away from you. I have got a fierce wife at home and let’s see who dares to come and irritate her.” Jing Yichen added more soup to her bowl seeing that it was empty. “Ji Bo called.”

He didn’t want to talk about it, but since Shangguan Ning asked, he had to tell her, in case she would misunderstand him for keeping a secret from her.

Shangguan Ning finally understood why he answered the call in the living room. He really wanted her off Ji Bo, even while on the phone.

She found it amusing.

Ji Bo and she were almost strangers. It was so childish of Jing Yichen to mind it so much.

Also, Ji Bo was apparently in a contradictory situation with Family Jing, because he was the culprit behind all the negative news of Jinsgheng. That made her impression of Ji Bo even worse! She didn’t like anyone who badgered Jing Yichen.

“Then why did he call you? It seems that you have nothing to talk about?”

They had enough to talk about. They were in a very fierce battle against each other.

Jing Yichen got himself a bowl of soup and said calmly, “True. He is just begging me right now, so I hung up on him. He will die soon, and I don’t want to save him. Instead, I set him up. Do you think I am cool?”

Shangguan Ning got startled and then amused. “So self-obsessed!”

Then she added. “Self-obsessed and cool!”

“But you have to tell me how he reached this terrible state. Then you will be cooler.”

Jing Yichen smiled and recounted the story as he ate the meal.

“Any capable heir would have a dragging and incapable relative. I have got one, so does Ji Bo. In fact, he has more of them. That’s why everything went so smoothly and I almost had to do nothing before Ji Bo got controlled.”

Shangguan Ning knew that Jing Yichen was referring to Jing Yiran as the ‘incapable relative’. As for Ji Bo, it must have been his cousins.

Actually, Jing Yichen had gone to Ji Ling and Ji Jiameng and promised that Jingsheng would sign the contracts with them before anyone else and that the revenue gained from financial business would be shared with the two with them. In the meanwhile, he also offered Ji Ling help in the real estate project development and aided Ji Jiameng with the operation of luxurious brands so that they could all be developed within a short period of time.

That was why Ji Ling and Ji Jiameng cooperated.

They gave the contract which Jing Yichen had drafted, to their father Ji Minjue for signing. And Ji Minjue took it.

Ji Minjue had wanted to do something about Ji Bo, ages ago. But if he really did something terrible to his nephew and gained nothing, then it would not have been good for him, either. If Jingsheng took them in and shared the revenue, then he would be happy.

In this way, his nephew’s power would be reduced and his children would stand to gain enough. That was why he signed the contract without hesitation.

“I had not wanted to do that before, because we had always been in a positive competition with Ji. I had not wanted to ruin the competition, but Ji Bo ruined it first and I couldn’t just stand by and let him do whatever he wants to.”

Jing Yichen descaled a shrimp and placed it into his wife’s plate as he said in a spoiled tone, “Eat, don’t get startled.”

Shangguan Ning felt her heart getting assured.

Nothing could baffle him.

He was a capable man who would take revenge for anything and from anyone who had done him a bad deed. When Family Jing’s reputation was ruined, Jingsheng was tremendously affected as well. So what he had done to Ji Bo was just a start. Many more external and internal attacks were yet to follow.

Sure enough, a press conference was organised at Jingsheng Enterprise, where the bad rumor was answered one after another.

The PR Department was in charge of the news release. Liang Fushi, the Deputy President of the department was in charge of answering every question. Jing Yichen was the most mysterious president of the enterprise who never attended any news conferences. But Shangguan Ning had tagged along, because she was curious.

The press conference was held in a building next to the office of Jingsheng Enterprise. The building belonged to Jingsheng too, but it was only used to display the newest products or the latest promotional projects of the enterprise and for news release on some occasions.

Liang Fushi had arrived at the press conference, and the explanation was slated to start soon.

Dressed in a black suit and high heels, Ning stood next to Mi Xiaoxiao and looked out at the journalists through a glass door.

Thanks to Shangguan Ning who was the Deputy President and the wife of President, Mi Xiaoxiao had been promoted to become a Deputy Director of PR Department, out of turn.
