It had been bad enough that Shen Lingbing needed to marry Jing Yiran whom she didn’t know at all. But now, she had lost her life and that was devastating.

“Was the murderer caught?”

“Yes, but she was just a scapegoat. She was a servant of Family Shen who was bribed by Jing Yiran at the beginning and someone else later, to poison Shen Lingbing. That servant has a son who was sent abroad for studies before the murder took place. But Jing Yiran didn’t help arrange that.”

“Jing Yiran’s bribe could be traced, but the other person hasn’t left many clues behind. Therefore, it might take some time to discover it.”

Shangguan Ning knew Jing Yichen well. She understood that although he hadn’t found the evidence yet, but he definitely had a suspect.

“Whom do you suspect?”

Jing Yichen’s voice was low. “Family Ji has a very close relationship with Jing Yiran. He is impulsive and inconsiderate. Only Family Ji knew that he was drugging Shen Lingbing.”

Since no new information had come out of Family Shen, then the inspection should start from Jing Yiran. He would definitely have more information than Family Shen.

“Ji Bo?” Shangguan Ning looked up in astonishment and said, “It is scary that he can be so vicious. Hearing his wife in his arms praising another man as “a gentleman”, Jing Yichen frowned.

She gazed at Jing Yichen helplessly and almost couldn’t control her laughter.

“Are you jealous of Ji Bo? How silly can you be! I have never met with him alone and only exchanged a few words with him at Ji Lili’s banquets. He couldn’t possibly like me, because he is ambitious and will marry a woman who could give him a boost in his career so that he could get the entire inheritance of Family Ji. You are different. I know that you can even throw away half of Jingsheng’s properties without hesitation for me if the need arises.”

Those words pleased Jing Yichen and he instantly got happy. He lowered his head to kiss Shangguan Ning. “That’s my girl! There is no other man better than me, so you don’t need to think of anyone else. Just stay by my side.”

He got mood swings like a child, totally different from his usual composed demeanour.

Shangguan Ning leaned forward to kiss his soft lips and said smilingly, “I will be your girl throughout my life and will only stand by your side. Also, there is truly no other man who is better than you, and I knew that even before I married you.”

While Shangguan Ning and Jing Yichen were having a comfortable chat, Zheng Jing and Zheng Lun were experiencing acute embarrassment.

They were in the same room and that made it inconvenient for either of them to get changed. But they couldn’t just sleep in those clothes. Zheng Jing was still wearing his uniform.

Standing at the door, Zheng Jing was about to pull it open when Zheng Lun held his arm tightly.

She said in panic, “Brother, don’t leave me alone! I am scared to sleep alone in a strange place.”

Zheng Lun was almost leaning into him. She was holding onto him tightly because she was really scared that Zheng Jing would leave her and go away. But Zheng Jing could feel the supple and plump softness… on Zheng Lun’s chest through the thin garment.

Zheng Jing had been close with Zheng Lun before. They always shared the bed when they were little. Zheng Lun had often slept with him, like a small kitten nestled in his arms, looking rather adorable.

Seeing that she had misunderstood him, Zheng Lun felt a bit embarrassed. But she relaxed and nodded. “Okay, Brother, come back soon. I will change quickly.”

Zheng Jing nodded and walked out with his pajamas in hand.

He wouldn’t allow Zheng Lun to sleep alone. She had experienced a trauma in her childhood that made her feel very scared in strange spaces. She still had nightmares because of that and couldn’t fall asleep in the dark.

She had no fear when she was sleeping in her own home, but she got scared easily when she was outside.

After Zheng Jing changed and returned to the bedroom, he got startled the moment he saw Zheng Lun.

Zheng Lun was dressed in a lacy pajama in blackish red color. The shoulder straps were thin and the top had a low necked collar, showing her exquisite collarbone and a bit of her snowy white breasts. The bottom was too short, barely covering her plump butt. Her slender long legs were completely exposed.

What was more, the night suit was nearly transparent.

She was like a delicious forbidden fruit, tempting him to take a bite!
