After hanging up the call with Lu Jinnan, Chu Xun seemed to have fallen into an endless circle that pushed her to exhaustion. It was merely a few hours, but she was already fatigued both mentally and physically.

Seeing a tall and broad man enter, Chu Xun’s body tensed up as she raised the gun and pointed it at the door.

But the person who entered had a gun too. It was a tall and burly black man.

Chu Xun gritted her teeth and restrained her panicked feelings. She got her spirits up and forced herself to calm down. “If you want money, I can give it all to you. Leave after taking the money. Else, you have a gun, and I have one too. No one knows for sure who will die between the two of us!”

Chu Xun then tossed her wallet at the man’s feet. “The money’s inside. Take it and go!”

The man looked at Chu Xun, whose hands were quivering while holding the gun, and smiled, revealing his teeth. He bent over and picked up the wallet on the floor, stuffing it into his pocket!

Chu Xun’s pupils quivered. She stood up while still holding the gun with both hands. “Take the money and leave me the wallet!”

The man fired a shot at the sofa. Chu Xun screamed and dodged away. By the time she regained her composure, the black man was already gone…

Some of the motel guests heard the scream and ran out to ask the motel owner about the earlier gunshot. But the owner didn’t think of it as something unusual, simply asking everyone to go back and rest.

After the man left, Chu Xun could no longer stay at the motel with peace of mind. She wiped her tears and grabbed her bag, then ran out of the motel in a panic!

But once she left the motel and went onto the empty streets, Chu Xun felt even more scared.

She looked around. The cold wind blowing at her made her shiver. Chu Xun really had no idea where to go this late at night, plus she had no money on her right now… Especially in a place like the US, where it was legal to own guns, there was nearly no one at all on the streets at night, except for a couple of drug addicts and hooligans.

Wearing the hotel’s bathrobe while walking down the street, there was already someone whistling at her…

Chu Xun felt more and more afraid. She turned around, wanting to return to the motel, but by the time she reached the entrance, she found that the motel had locked its metal door.

Chu Xun slapped hard on the door, wanting to enter, but as her hands made a clanking sound with the metal door, no one came to open it. Instead, it attracted the attention of some hooligans. Chu Xun gritted her teeth and wrapped herself firmly with her bathrobe before leaving.

She was tired and hungry, but there wasn’t anything she could eat, and neither did she dare to sleep. She could only squat in a corner in the dark, hugging her bag to her chest, tears slipping down non-stop.

A black car stopped at the turn of the street for a short while before leaving. A photo of Chu Xun hugging her knees to her chest while kneeling in a street corner was sent to Saihand’s phone.

Saihand handed the phone to show Cen Mo. Cen Mo, who was browsing through a parenting book, briefly looked at it, seeming not to really care. “Continue…”

This was only the start. Cen Mo planned to let Chu Xun experience all the darkest, coldest, and filthiest things in the world. Else, how could he make her live up to the spectacular life she once scripted for herself!
