Not wanting to scare Tuan Tuan, Lin Nuan looked down and revealed a smile at him, turning his attention away. “Tuan Tuan, are you hungry? Why don’t we eat first and then save some food for Papa?”

Tuan Tuan shook his head and said with determination, “Wait for Papa!”

Lin Nuan smiled and nodded. “Then… Before Papa gets back, Mama will allow Tuan Tuan to eat a few pieces of chocolate, alright? Don’t tell Papa!”

Hearing that there was chocolate, Tuan Tuan’s eyes immediately lit up, and he licked his lips. He nodded and gave Lin Nuan a thumbs-up. “Mama’s the best!”

His childish voice sounded extremely cute.

Lin Nuan and Tuan Tuan sat near the villa’s windows and could easily see the situation outside.

As this accident had taken place unexpectedly, it resulted in a multiple-vehicle collision, and the situation was extremely dire.

Lin Nuan turned and looked at the television screen. The scene flashed by in an instant. She could even see the splattered blood on a windshield that had two steel pillars pierced through it.

Tuan Tuan opened his small mouth, waiting for Lin Nuan to feed him a piece of orange. However, he didn’t expect that what Lin Nuan handed to him was a piece of orange peel…

Another piece of orange peel came over. Tuan Tuan took it, climbed down the sofa, and ran off to toss it away. This time around, he stood beside Lin Nuan and was in no hurry to climb up the sofa.

Lin Nuan saw Tuan Tuan standing beside her in her peripheral vision, and her lips curled up with much difficulty. She sent a piece of orange to Tuan Tuan’s mouth, only to discover that it was an orange peel. She got a shock and then noticed that the remaining half of the orange was still lying in her palm. The orange peel was already gone!

“Tuan Tuan, where are the orange peels?” Lin Nuan put down the orange nervously and squatted down in front of Tuan Tuan, feeling horrified. “Quickly spit them out!”

Tuan Tuan opened his mouth wide and showed it to Lin Nuan, then pointed to the trash. “I threw it away!”

Lin Nuan heaved a sigh of relief and forced a smile. “I’m sorry, Tuan Tuan! Mama’s thoughts had wandered away!”

Tuan Tuan shook his head. Sensing Lin Nuan’s emotional change, Tuan Tuan squeezed his small figure into Lin Nuan’s embrace, giving her a big hug. “Love Mama!”

Lin Nuan’s heart, which had turned slightly cold from worry, was filled with a bit of warmth. Thinking that this news report was a little too bloody for a child, Lin Nuan switched off the television with the remote. The person standing outside the dining hall while holding a phone was Little Lu. He didn’t enter, and his countenance appeared a little grim as he looked at Lin Nuan.

Lin Nuan’s heart sank, and she could only hear its intense pounding.

She put down her chopsticks, hands trembling a little.

She forced herself not to let her imagination run wild. Little Lu hadn’t said anything yet, so why was she panicking?

Afraid that Tuan Tuan might be frightened, Lin Nuan intentionally lowered her voice and smiled at Tuan Tuan. “Tuan Tuan, you continue with your meal. Mama will go have a talk with Uncle Little Lu, alright?”

The unprecedented terror was like a big black hand that silently clenched Lin Nuan’s heart.

Right now, Lin Nuan had a strong urge to have wings and fly to the hospital. However, she was also afraid that after arriving at the hospital, she would see the scene of a steel pipe pierced through Fu Huai’an’s body.
