Outside the conference room, Lu Jinnan lit a cigarette and stood in the corner. He felt extremely agitated as he listened to the discussion of the directors.

He saw from afar that Secretary Song was sitting on the sofa, rubbing his back, and Lu Jinnan squinted his eyes and walked towards him.

“Secretary Song…” Lu Jinnan said with a smile. His clean features made him look ever so attractive. He passed him a cigarette with that deceptive look and said, “My apologies Secretary Song, I personally can’t take people blocking the way, so I accidentally bumped into you with my clumsiness! Shall I help send you to the hospital to check it out?”

Secretary Song took the cigarette and decided to be tolerant of him. He smiled vaguely and nodded. “It’s not a big deal.”

Half an hour later, Fu Huai’an opened the door and entered the room, his face looking solemn and depressed.

Everyone stopped talking and looked in his direction.

Lu Jinnan put out the cigarette and followed him. “How’s it going?”

Fu Huai’an kept his lips sealed tight.

They returned to the board office together. Lu Jinnan entered and asked, “So what? The old man won’t let it launch?”

Fu Huai’an stood before the giant table and unbuttoned his suit. He put it on the table and frowned as he whipped out a cigarette and lit it up.

Fu Huai’an looked especially serious through the mist, his expression possessing a chilling quality.

He kept silent. Lu Jinnan didn’t keep asking and simply said, “Kaide Corporation is the one to lose out if the project isn’t launched. Despite only a few members attending, we made our point that if they won’t launch it, then this responsibility wouldn’t fall on you.”

“He’s planning to let Fu Tianci marry into the Mu family of Pengcheng.” Fu Huai’an turned around and leaned on the table as he flicked his cigarette.

His statement shocked Lu Jinnan.

The Mu family of Pengcheng was as influential as the Xie family of Weicheng!

He recalled how Secretary Song had taken Fu Tianci to Pengcheng several times—it was probably because of that matter. He couldn’t help but feel outraged. He pulled on his tie and said irritatedly, “How old is Fu Tianci? Why think about marriage before the kid even hit puberty? That old man really dares to dream!”

The Mu family only had a daughter who was twenty-one years old, four years older than Tianci, and she seemed to have problems with her legs.

Lu Jinnan understood from his frown that Fu Huai’an didn’t care for the child’s opinion.

“Look, I’m going to look into this matter to find out what exactly is going on. Fu Tianci isn’t good at keeping secrets—if somebody really went to find them they’d leave a trace,” Lu Jinnan said with a frown, his hands in his pockets.

After a brief silence in the office, Lu Jinan suddenly said, “Brother Fu, if your grandfather suddenly had considerations about the Mu Family, shouldn’t you consider Chu Xun? She’s never changed her feelings towards you over these years, and the old lady likes her too. The Chu Family…”

“When you passed the documents to Lin Nuan, what else did you tell her besides telling her to find Lin Chen?” Fu Huai’an suddenly interrupted Lu Jinnan as he spoke.
