Song Qingchun felt like she had been dreaming for a very long time. When she opened her eyes, she was staring at a white ceiling; it felt like she was in another world. Her surroundings were quiet except for the occasional sound of footsteps outside the door.

Song Qingchun’s brain was a completely blank. She stared at the ceiling for a long time before she slowly moved her head to look out the window.

The weather was perfect, the open blue sky not tainted by a single piece of cloud. The sun was hanging up in the middle of the sky, shining down gloriously on the world. The window was slightly ajar, and the spring breeze carried with it the wonderful smell of grass and flowers, tickling the curtains.

Such wonderful weather made Song Qingchun’s lips curve into a smile. Her gaze moved away from the window and into the room. Her eyes caught the bag of IV drip that was to the side of her bed. She then noticed it was attached to the needle on the back of her left arm.

What’s going on? Have I fallen sick?

Song Qingchun wanted to raise her right hand to feel her body, but when she tried to move it, she realized it was heavily held in someone’s grasp. She frowned and turned to look to her right. She saw Song Menghwa’s head that was lying on top of her bedside slowly rise.

The first emotion that registered in Song Menghwa’s eyes was shock. He then raised his hand to wave it before Song Qingchun’s eyes to make sure that her pupils were able to follow his motion. Then, he rushed out the door yelling, “She’s awake; she’s awake…”

He ran back into the room to pick up the phone by her bed and made a call.

The door to the bathroom was pushed open, and Fang Rou came running in. Her face split into a smile when she saw that Song Qingchun was awake. “Qingchun, you’re finally awake! Do you know how worried we were? You’ve been out for three days and four nights already!”

Three days and four nights? I’ve been asleep for so long?

Song Qingchun’s brain was still waking up. She didn’t really understand what was happening when a group of people in white garbs started to crowd the room.

There were men and women among the group. They surrounded her trying to get her blood pressure and record her heartbeat. One of them even pried her eyelids open to give it a look.

Half an hour later, most of the group finally dispersed. Song Qingchun sighed in relief. Then, one of the taller guys removed his mask and asked her, “Can you still remember your name?”

Song Qingchun frowned and noted the doctor didn’t seem like he was joking with her, so after a moment of silence, she answered, “Song Qingchun.”

“Then, do you know who this is?” The doctor turned to point at Song Menghwa who was being supported by Fang Rou.

Song Qingchun answered, “My father.”

“How about this?” The doctor pointed at Fang Rou.

“My sister-in-law.”

After Song Qingchun answered all of his questions, the doctor turned to Song Menghwa and Fang Rou with a smile. “There doesn’t seem to be anything wrong with Miss Song. We couldn’t find any blood clots in her brain, and there are no signs of amnesia. Her prolonged period of sleep is probably due to the head trauma that she suffered. Currently, she is still recovering from a slight concussion, but after a period of rest, she’ll be fine.”

Head trauma… Concussion…

When the doctor said those words, the memory of the abduction slowly filled up her blank mind. Her brows creased, and the images from that night gradually flooded her mind.
