The door to the study was shut, so Cheng Qingchong didn’t know how Qin Yinan was holding up on inside. She stood in the middle of the living room, staring at the door. She still couldn’t summon the courage to walk toward it.

Cheng Qingchong bent over to place the tray before the door. Then she stood to knock on the door lightly. She didn’t say anything but moved away hastily into the main bedroom. The moment she closed the door, she heard the study door open.

About a minute later, the study door closed once more. Cheng Qingchong then pulled the bedroom door open slightly ajar to peek outside. The door to the study was shut, but the tray she left at the door had already disappeared.

It was fine if he hated her—she could make sure that he wouldn’t see her—but she hoped he would take care of his health especially in a stressful situation like this.

Not long after he left, Cheng Qingchong’s eyes fluttered open. She walked to the window to see Qin Yinan’s car disappear from the residential area before she turned to walk toward the study.

The door to the study wasn’t locked. Cheng Qingchong twisted the doorknob, and it fell open.

The first thing that hit her was a haze of smoke. Cheng Qingchong raised her hand to cover her nostrils before she walked into it.

She looked around the study before moving to the desk. It was stacked with all kinds of files and documents.

Her years of training at ST Empire enabled Cheng Qingchong to recognize these documents at first glance as Qin Yinan’s decision to give up on Zhou Wei. He planned to find a new investor in the remaining three days, and the information gathered was all on venture capital companies.
