Her face blanched and turned pale from fear. It was a good thing that Mu Jianyu wasn’t here or else this might cause a fight between them. Mu Jianyu didn’t need to know her past and her previous relationships.

When the pounding on her door continued, Lin Meirong had no other choice but to open it. The moment she unlocked the door, the door flew open right on her face and she was pushed inside.

Lin Meirong found a hand gripping her neck on a vice grip-like hold. She stared wide-eyed at Director Yao, her body trembling in fear as she tried to push him away futilely. The man was drunk, she could tell from the strong scent of alcohol coming from him but what did he want from her anyway?

“This is all your fault, bitch.” Director Yao sneered at her face with such ferocity in his voice. It was all because of this woman’s greed that he had to offend Lan Jinyao and was caught red-handed by Zheng Yue. Zheng Yue had a reputation of being pampered rotten by her husband. If she was displeased with what she’d seen between him and Lan Jinyao, it was easy for her to demand a replacement.

“You think you’re high and mighty now because you have a lover wrapped around your finger, huh? Did he know about the child you gave birth to three years ago? Is he aware that you’re someone else’s wife?”

The horror written all over Lin Meirong’s face was the answer Director Yao gained from her.

She wanted to expand her horizons, wanted to go to the big city to find opportunities that would suit her taste. Being a wife to the son of another merchant was boring and unfulfilling. She could only grit her teeth when she found out that she was pregnant with her first child unwillingly.

Three years ago, she gave birth to a son. She never held her baby and let her husband and her sister-in-law take care of him. Until now, Lin Meirong had no idea how they were faring after she left the countryside.

Director Yao closed the door behind him with a loud thud and pulled Lin Meirong back to the living area, roughly throwing her body on the couch. He glared down to the woman who caused his misfortune. He really regretted listening to her words but the temptation of defiling Lan Jinyao’s body got the best of him.

“Do you remember now? If it wasn’t for me, you’ll never reach what you have now. You’ll not be able to enjoy this lavishness you got from your married lover.” He broke her fantasy by slapping the reality right on her face leaving her speechless.

He slapped her face with full force, leaving a red print on her cheek. Lin Meirong couldn’t stop her tears by now. She was really afraid that Yao Qigang would ruin her.

“Is he even aware of how many men have used this body of yours?” His tone became lustful and he looked down on her body that was only covered with her silk nightgown. “Lin Meirong, such a nymph that you are. Enchanting men with your face and body. No wonder he was head over heels for you that he was willing to throw money for your sake.”

His hand reached out again and Lin Meirong couldn’t stop the shiver that ran down her spine. Was he going to beat her? She wondered. However, what she imagined was far from his intention.

Lin Meirong was shocked when he cupped her swollen cheek gently before his hand ran down from her face, his fingers running on the smoothness of her neck before cupping her right breast and gave it a squeeze.

He gave her a feral grin and continued molesting her much to her horror.

“Ah, Gu Channge. Please don’t look at me like that. We’ve been together these past years and even when you have him to yourself, you still kept me around,” he said with malice. “Don’t worry, I wouldn’t tell him about your secret as long as you provide for me until I find another job, no?”

Director Yao released her and sat back. His grin still in his face.

“I thought I’m being clear, Lin Meirong. Until I get my next project you’ll give me the money you owed me over the years. Not unless you want me to tell your lover about your little lie.”

Lin Meirong sat up in a hurry and covered herself with a blanket she left on the couch. Hatred flashed on her eyes as she looked at him. As expected, Director Yao had become a thorn on her side that needed to be eliminated soon.
