I Found My Dad Is a Crossdresser Chapter 25 – Expo and Birthday

As the saying goes, speaking of the devil and he shall appear.

As soon as I spoke of my dad, he came to see me.

Early yesterday morning, he suddenly came home.

When I went downstairs, I saw him talking to my grandma in the living room. What a harmonious atmosphere it was! I thought, “Is one of them decides to be the bigger person and compromised?”

When my dad saw me, he asked me to come to him, with a natural attitude as if we didn’t act difficult with each other. Also, he said he would take me to visit an exhibition about high-tech electronics.

…I thought he was trying to please me.

Because that was my major.

Due to it, I knew a fair bit about the exhibitions going on. Therefore, as soon as he spoke of it, I knew which one he was referring to. But at this stage, that exhibition was of little value for me.

So, I hesitated.

Maybe he found I was speechless, so he said: “By the way, I want you to celebrate my birthday with me today.”

I: “But today isn’t your birthday.”

He said: “But I would be in Japan on my birthday. You can accompany me to eat longevity noodles with me in advance and celebrate it for me.”

It was clear that he was blaming me for not going to Japan with him.

I was wrong about him. Instead of pleasing me, he was acting all cute and seeking for attention.

Well, my grandma also persuaded: “Your dad is 28 years old this year. As the elder, I’ll not celebrate it for him. However, you are the younger. So you should celebrate the birthday for your dad.”

Now that my grandma had spoken out, I had no reason to refuse my dad.  Then I agreed.

Later on, we really went to that exhibition.

That exhibition was far away from my home and it was boring. I didn’t know why I would go there with my dad. Maybe I just wanted to find something to do. Now that I had to go there, of course I couldn’t be idle.

Anyway, when he accompanied me, sorry I meant I accompanied him, he was quite serious. During this period, all calls were hung up by him. Besides, he had prepared some knowledge of my major in order to chat with me.

I had to admit that I was a bit moved.

After it, we went to a nearby business district for dinner.

By this time, I had been softhearted, not wanting him to run into a brick wall due to me. So I tried to bring up the topic about going to Japan.

But as soon as I spoke, I felt regret.

I said, “Are you going alone?”

He said, “No, I am going with XXXX.”

He was still talking about his itinerary over there. Several times, I suspected that he had deliberately got me mad, but he was so serious that he talked about the travel guides as if he was arranging his work.

I said today I was gonna celebrate his birthday, so I ordered a bowl of  noodles. When he was speaking, the noodles were brought to the table. I finally found a chance to chime in and say “happy birthday” to him.

Finally, he stopped the last topic, took the bowl and mixed the toppings with noodles, then symbolically ate a bit.

It seemed he didn’t enjoy it.

I asked him: “Doesn’t it taste good?”

He said: “It’s okay.”

I said: “Then we can buy you a cake when we go back.”

He said: “Oh.”

Then we had nothing else to say, which was a little awkward.

What made me the most uncomfortable was that I knew he had something else to say, but he still kept silent. Instead, he annoyed me with saying something I didn’t like. I doubt whether he didn’t know that I hardly wanted to know the details about his plan to Japan with Ms. XXXX.

In the afternoon, we returned to city.

When I passed the cake shop near his house, I hopped off and ordered one. He said he was gonna have a meeting, so he drove to the company.

It was a bit boring for me to wait for him, so I went to the mall to pick out a present for him.

It was a little sad to say that according to the tradition in our family, the birthday of the younger, instead of being celebrated, would just be a day of receiving birthday wishes plainly. I knew my grandma wouldn’t celebrate my dad’s birthday, so I had been selecting presents for pretty long.

Well, I ended up buying a present for him at the mall.

How ironic it was!

After picking out the present, it was time for me to get the cake. Then, I walked back to his house.

By this time, it was almost dark.

I waited him for a long time, but he didn’t come back. And he didn’t answer my call.

I guessed he might be busy, so I turned on the computer to play games on my own.

He played games less, so although he had two desktops at home, there was only one mouse for playing games. When I turned on the computer, I found that the mouse, which was usually in my room, was gone.

I didn’t think too much, just going to his room to look for it.

As a result, I found several details which made me confused.

First of all, he brought back the costume of Tamae no mae and hung it in the wardrobe.

Even if he had basically publicized his identity and didn’t need to hide these costumes now, but why he brought this one back specially? Did he like this character that much?

Alas. I used to think he really liked this character, but later on I found I was wrong.

He only had one principle when it came to his characters equally. He just concerned about their appearance.

I could feel a little that it was because of me.

Then there were two books about my major on his desk.

When we were visiting the exhibition, I thought what he talked with me was from the internet. Actually, he bought books about it.

As for the major I studied now, it was also discussed intensely in our family. My grandma thought, of course, the family enterprise shouldn’t be managed by others in the future, so she hoped me to learn management or finance.

But I also had my own hobbies, and I did not want to get involved in the enterprise.

For this, I disputed with my grandma for a while.

Later on, he helped me persuade my grandma and let me choose the major as I like.

And so far, he hadn’t asked me to go to the company for an internship.

It was because I said not only I didn’t like it, but also I didn’t want to be involved.

Looking at the costume and books, I was confused.

At that time, I was thinking how about telling him about my feelings and knowing what he was thinking about.
