On a morning two days later, near the eastern harbor, several streams from various towns around Capital City flowed eastward to the East China Sea.

A huge bridge was built about three kilometers westward of the harbor, the Haihe Bridge[1]. 

China was famous for its constructions, leading the world when it came to infrastructure. China had vast lands and resources, with all sorts of terrains. Regardless of the environment, it would surely build something spectacular.

Bridge construction was one of its finest. A bridge that cut across the sea or river was just a minor issue.

At that moment, it was rush hour for the workforce. A lot of the workers were driving on the bridge, rushing to work. 

Honk honk honk!

Right then, a bus was swerving left and right on the bridge, accompanied by an ear-piercing screech.

From the screeching sound, one could tell that the driver was slamming the breaks, trying to stop the vehicle. However, momentum would not allow them to stop immediately.

On the road, busses were the king. The urgent honking caused the cars on the bridge to panic, causing a lot of them to pull over.

The next moment, for some unknown reason, the front of the bus swerved to the side and rammed against the barrier on the edge of the bridge. With a loud bang, the huge bus flew out of the bridge and went straight into the water!

The river was by the East China Sea. It was wide and had strong currents. If one dropped into the water, it was as good as dead. Furthermore, with the entire bus going into the water, the chances of the passengers surviving this would be less than 10 percent.

“Ah!”

“Help!”

Immediately, panicked screams broke out on the bridge. Everyone was stunned. Those who witnessed the entire process of the falling bus all went pale.

“Call the police!”

“Right, the police!”

At that moment, countless people took out their phones and called the police. Some even called the firefighters. All in all, they had to get help as soon as possible!

On Haihe Bridge, most cars pulled over and a large number of people gathered.

That instantly turned the atmosphere on the scene even darker. Faced with such a terrifying scene, a large number of people cried. Fate was too cruel.

“Where’s the police? The rescue team? How can they be so slow for such a serious incident? Save them!”

“Are there any boats nearby? Send them over. Please save them!”

Many people were shouting anxiously.

They all knew the rescue team could not fly. They couldn’t arrive that quickly. Even if a boat came over, it would not be able to help the sinking bus.

However, that was their only hope. They were really out of options…
