Leng Shuangwei nodded and said, “Ask Si to be the best man. I think he’s good.”

“It’s a deal then.” Ji Chuan nodded and said, “Shuangwei, go and pick a gown.”

“Sure.” Leng Shuangwei turned and followed a shop assistant to choose the gown.

Ji Chuan finally turned his eyes to Nian Xi and said to her, “Xi, this wedding dress looks nice.”

Because of what he had just done and said, Nian Xi was no longer in the mood to try on other wedding dresses. “Since you said it’s good, we’ll take it. I’ll go get changed.” At that moment, all she wanted to do was to get changed and come back out as quickly as possible, in case Luosang and Leng Shuangwei might have to face each other alone.

Luosang guessed what Nian Xi was thinking, so she hurriedly said to her, “Didn’t we pick four dresses? You’ve only tried on two of them. Just continue, try them all on once before making the decision. Your wedding day will be the most important day of your life. Make it perfect.”

“But…” Nian Xi hesitated.

“Miss Xu is right.” Ji Chuan nodded and said to Nian Xi affectionately, “Maybe the other dresses are even prettier? I can’t buy you the most expensive wedding dress, but you have to pick the most beautiful one.”

Nian Xi got a little soft-hearted. Under Luosang’s gaze, she nodded, then went back into the changing room.

After Nian Xi disappeared into the changing room, Luosang said to Ji Chuan, “Mr. Feng, I know that you may not like me. But after all, you and Nian Xi are getting married very soon. I think anyhow, that we should put aside our prejudice and not do anything that might hurt your relationship with Nian Xi.”

“Like bringing Shuangwei here?” Ji Chuan frowned slightly and said, “Nian Xi and I grew up together. Our relationship can’t become unstable so easily. I have no bad intentions toward you, as the relationship between you and Junting is firm enough not to be affected by me bringing over his ex-girlfriend. Also, don’t think of Shuangwei as an indecent person.”

Luosang smiled and said, “I’m sorry. I don’t know Leng Shuangwei well, so I won’t make any comments about her. All I can say is that I admire her for what she does and admire her spirit. But Mr. Feng, you need to be clear that the girl in the changing room is your fiancee, while the one out here is your friend.”

“What do you mean?” Ji Chuan’s eyes turned slightly cold. “You think something is going on between Shuangwei and me?”

“I didn’t say that. We can have opposite-sex friends, I understand that. But there are some things that we shouldn’t overdo, so we don’t upset our other halves. No matter how close you are as friends, she is still a girl,” Luosang explained meaningfully.

“I don’t need you to lecture me.” Ji Chuan picked up a suit and walked into the changing room.

In less than two seconds after he left, Leng Shuangwei walked over behind a shop assistant. She picked a long pink gown. It was a nice color for the maid of honor. “You go in first,” she said to the shop assistant.

The shop assistant nodded.

As only the two of them were left on the outside, Luosang started talking first. “Miss Leng, is there something that you want to say to me?”

“You are the girlfriend of the man whom I’ve been deeply in love with, so I want to greet you, sincerely.” Leng Shuangwei was tall enough to look down at Luosang.

Luosang stopped smiling. “Miss Leng, you are quite frank,” she said.

“I got used to being straightforward in the army. I’ve liked Junting ever since I was a child,” Leng Shuangwei said honestly.

Luosang paused for a second without knowing what to say. She felt that Leng Shuangwei had quite weird taste, as she liked Nian Junting, who had obviously been a weirdo since he was little. Luosang now liked Nian Junting very much too, but that only happened after she had spent a while getting to know him. And since she had started to like Nian Junting, she often felt that she was becoming weird as well.

“I am very sorry, Miss Leng. You’re already in the past tense. He likes me now,” said Luosang.
