money. They lied to me, and I gave them all my share. I was so stupid. I had

nothing left, no house, no car. I gave Yi Jingxi what he wanted. I gave him all

my family had. I hate Xu Luosang. I even want to kill myself.”

“Alright, stop talking. I get it,” Nian Junting couldn’t bear listening. Xiao Si told

him that she had suffered some harms, yet he didn’t know what she was

thinking back then.

Now, he figured it out.

She hated herself.

He sat on the bed, reached out a hand and gently pulled her into his arms.

Luosang buried her face in his chest, cried and shivered.

said sullenly, “You liked him, and now you like me. I feel like I’m lowered by

him. It’s like I’m a freak too.”

‘Mr. Nian, you’re really a freak,’ thought Luosang.

Luosang was already sad. Hearing Nian Junting’s words, she wanted to cry

again.

‘Yeah, why do I always like freaks?’

“No, Yi Jingxi is a bad man,” Luosang corrected Nian Junting while sobbing,

then silently, she added, ‘You’re a freak.’

Nian Junting sighed, said, “Fortunately, I knew that you are poor-tasted since

long ago. I saved you from your poor taste. If it wasn’t for me, you might be

hurt again by some other bad guy in the future.”

“Yeah, yeah, you saved me,” Luosang had never met someone else who

would try to comfort others like that. She smiled through tears, looked at him

with her red eyes and asked, “Are you still mad at me?”

Her words reminded him of something. So, his handsome face turned dark

again as he said, “I am. You called Yi Jingxi’s name when you’re dragged out

of the water. Do you still like him? And…”

He let go of her, then stood up and made two circles in the ward with an

extremely sour face.

“Did I?” Luosang gave a start. After thinking back carefully, she said, “I think I

saw Yi Jingxi’s face through the water. I thought he saved me, so…”

“You’re right, he did save you,” Nian Junting was now angry at himself. Why

did he sit so far away from her back then? If he was closer to her, he would be

able to save her, and she would call his name.
