At 7 o’clock, Luosang brought all the dishes out to the table. There was only the sound of television playing in the background. Nian Junting got up from the couch and walked towards the lawn.

Luosang found it strange and proceeded to set the table. By the time she was done, Nian Junting brought Xiaosi over to the dining room and ordered, “Sit here and watch Luoluo eat.”

“See, I’m helping you teach him a lesson,” Nian Junting looked at her.

“Mr. Nian is it really necessary to bully a dog like this,” Luosang rolled her eyes, “Xiaosi only listens to you anyway.”

“No, but he’s super rebellious and he doesn’t even obey my commands.”

Luosang wanted to laugh at him lying through his teeth, but she pitied Xiaosi too.

“Ignore him Xiaosi. I’ll fix you up something good,” Luosang picked up a piece of pork rib and placed it into the dog bowl.

Xiaosi wagged his tail happily and took a bite of the pork rib.

Luosang was swooning over Xiaosi as she watched him eat her food with bliss. Just as she was about to take another pork rib for Xiaosi, Nian Junting slid the plate away from her.

“This would be mine so feed Xiaosi this instead,” he pushed his plate of black tarry chicken towards her.

“You should eat what you made yourself,” Luosang was speechless.

“It’s no good,” Nian Junting shook his head.

Luosang was lamenting in her mind about how he was being honest for once before saying out loud, “Well we finally found an imperfection in your entire being.”

“Yup, and now I’m befitting of imperfect you aren’t I? I do have some flaws, just to keep things down-to-earth,” Nian Junting ran his index finger along his lower lip in amusement.

Luosang glared at him angrily before deciding to ignore him and focus on her dinner.

Nian Junting picked up his chopsticks, started eating her food, and it was delicious. He hadn’t had it for a long while and he missed the taste of her food dearly. He could eat this for the rest of his life.

As he munched on, he found the atmosphere uncomfortably quiet, he quickly realized that Luosang wasn’t even looking at him anymore.

“What’s the matter with you?”

“I don’t speak at mealtimes. It’s basic table manners,” Luosang replied him coldly.

Nian Junting frowned and kept quiet, but he slowly shifted his chair closer to hers and whispered, “My cheeks are fiery hot and it stings.”

Luosang gave him a side glance and said sympathetically, “I thought I told you to put some ointment on. Where’s Steward Wu?”

“I told him that we were going to have some private time. He’s out in the backyard, and I don’t know where he puts the ointment.”

‘Private time’ sounded a tad too scandalous and made Luosang blush a little so she stood up and said, “Sister Lan used to keep it beneath the wine cabinet; let me go check.”

After a moment, she found the ointment exactly where she had predicted.

She threw the ointment for burns at Nian Junting, “Rub it on yourself.”

“I can’t see my face.”

“Use the mirror in the toilet.”

Nian Junting stayed where he was and said with a chuckle, “Luoluo, are you afraid that I would kiss you again without your permission if you come too close to me?”

He said exactly what was on her mind and she couldn’t help but blush and say, “So long as you know.”

“Luoluo, I won’t kiss you. Come help me put on the ointment,” Nian Junting shoved the tube of medication into her hands.

Luosang locked her eyes onto his dark pupils and she felt her heart flutter. She had never felt this way before when she was with Yi Jingxi previously. He was more arrogant than Yi Jingxi, but Nian Junting was…

“Alright, but if you break your promise, then I’ll ignore you for a week,” Luosang said as she unboxed the ointment. A sparkly object rolled out of the box and landed on the floor with a “ding”.
