He is happy that our family has reunited and we’re all happy and healthy together. He still doesn’t know about Yan Su’s child—he only knows that I’ve found a girlfriend. He did ask me to bring her home so that we can get married but I thought it would be better to ask for your permission first.”

Jiang Peiying was relieved to know that his family seemed to be okay with everything and that Mo Liuxi was treating them with a lot of respect. She said, “Sounds like you are planning to get married this year…”

“Oh.” The old lady squinted her eyes to look at Mo Liuxi, “He looks like a good looking fella. When did you get a divorce?”

Mo Liuxi kept quiet.

Yan Su explained, “My grandma is getting old so she gets a little confused sometimes. She always mistakes me for my cousin.”

She turned and explained to her grandmother, “I am Susu!”

“Oh, Susu, didn’t you elope with a man?” Granny Yan smiled and held her hands, “You’re home now? Is this Shi Xiang whom your father has talked about?”

Mo Liuxi’s awkward silence intensified.
