Gacha Sovereign Chapter -2 – Privilege (/Ch.388)

The news is about Privilege.

I’ve been notified that there is a new policy for Privilege. It seems they are going to make it a sitewide requirement for contracted. It is not compulsory but it is highly recommended. Also, if you don’t do it, your book will have even less of a chance to be recommended (No exposure). 

So, I am thinking about making it 2 chapters for 1 coin. That’s it, I am just going to go for the minimum, so I can get some chance for exposure.

The reason for this Privilege is because WN has a hard time dealing with piracy even with DMCA, takedown, or whatever it is. They want to use Privilege to fight it since it will be harder to get it.

I will try to explain the Privilege thingy.

1. (2 chapters for 1 coin): Privilege allows one to read advance chapters ahead of the mainstream one by paying a premium. In other words, if I put chapter 399 and 400 as privilege chapters. Only those who pay for privilege can read them while those who can’t would only see up to chapter 398.

2. (Pricing): After you buy the privilege with 1 coin, you will still need to pay for the two other chapters (in standard price) with coins as it can’t be unlocked with a fast pass. The one coin thingy is not for gathering money but to curb piracy plus a chance for exposure.

P.S: If you buy privilege, you will get the privilege for a month. You can say it is like mini-Patreon on this site.

3. (Why should I buy this?): Honestly, it is up to you. This privilege thing is only for 2 chapters, not something like 20 or even 50 (Max). In fact, I doubt I will increase the amount any time soon. Well, there are two receptions for this privilege. Some authors were praised and blessed with coins by readers, while others were insulted and had people bouncing off. I seem to be the latter, which is why I try to avoid this.

4. (Where is the Chapters?): Oof, I will try to do it within this week since I write 3 chapters a day (Around 6k words), which I need around 12 hours, including the editing. Plus, I need time for study. Basically, I don’t really have that much free time. That was the reason why I held back my release rate for my other novel (If you know about it) for the Mass Release Event not long ago.

Of course, I won’t stop the normal production 2chs/day just to make this privilege, so don’t worry. Even if you don’t buy privilege, you will still get your daily 2chs like normal.

5. (Gift Function): Well, there is a gift function where we can donate to the authors… For this, I can’t say anything since it is not very beneficial. Google/Apple, as well as WN, take a significant share in this, while the one that comes to my way is… Ugh, I will just give you one example: I got less than $1 from the total gifts sent last month…

Of course, I am very thankful and appreciated for your continuous support.

6. (Personal Opinion): Well, I don’t really like the Privilege System for various reasons such as public dislike, release rate, money, and so on.

In truth, my personal reasons are ‘it is hard to write’ and ‘I prefer normal Mass Release rather than releasing it in Privilege.’
