At that very moment, Yan Qingsi could only hear Yue Tigfeng’s voice as her surroundings were dampened to complete silence.

She could only pay attention to Yue Tingfeng as he was very clearly reflected on Yan Qingsi’s eyes.

Yan Qingsi felt her heart beating in speeds that she had never felt before. He confessed. Was she waiting for Yue Tingfeng’s confession?

Yue Tingfeng was not surprised at Yan Qingsi’s reply. He knew well enough that this would be her reply after he had made his confession.

“Do you like Jin Xuechu?” Yue Tingfeng asked.

“No.” Yan Qingsi replied while shaking her head.

“What about Qin Jingzhi?” Yue Tingfeng added.

“Nope,” Yan Qingsi replied.

“Then, what about Helan Fangnian…” Yue Tingfeng probed further.

This question made Yan Qingsi hesitate a little. It was not like the previous blunt and quick rejection. This one, however, made her think a little. She replied after a moment of thought. “Nope.”

Yue Tingfeng was slightly frustrated. He asked “Why did you hesitate on that one?”

“Truly, I was a little shaken then. My feelings toward him were conflicted at the very least. And I didn’t know that I never really loved him then. However, with time, we both drifted apart till now. So the takeaway would mean that I can love whoever I choose and I know as clear as ever, it’s impossible for me to have any feelings toward him,” Yan Qingsi explained.

Yan Qingsi thought about how she had felt toward Helan Fangnian. If they had never drifted apart, it would be extremely likely for her to fall for him. However, all that could only be assumptions and as reality had dictated, they both had drifted apart and so she should not linger on assumptions.

Her explanation seemingly made Yue Tingfeng happy. He said, “It’s alright… Since without me, it’s unlikely for you to choose anyone else. Even if you don’t see me as your man, I have a lifetime to spend with you.”

No matter how much he could tolerate Yan Qingsi, he still had his bottom line and that would be his submission of his heart to Yan Qingsi alone.
