Yue Tingfeng released Yan Qingsi and climbed off the bed to answer his call outside.

Yan Qingsi opened her eyes as she looked at him curiously, this phone call seemed important.

“Company trading secrets you know. I’m not sure if I could let both of you in on it. I don’t mind you knowing at all. This man, however, happens to be my romantic rival. I don’t think I can let him know any of it.” Yue Tingfeng said while tilting his chin upwards

Yue Tingfeng walked out the door with a proud stride. However, he had only taken a step out the door only to turn back and said, “I will be answering my call outside, both of you better behave yourselves and stay honest to me. Don’t let me catch you both flirting… or else I will have both your heads.”

Helan Fangnian smiled and shook his head.

After Yue Tingfeng had walked out of the room, Helan Fangnian asked, “So, do you love him?”

“I don’t want to tell you.” Yan Qingsi shook her head as she replied.

He looked over to Qingsi with a hint of sadness and simply said, “I understand.”

If she does not love him, she could have just replied with a simple no. However, by replying with what she had just now, she most probably had some serious conflicting feelings of her own.

Her best friend and her lover are in the same room as her.

Life seemed to take joy in irony, always exceeding one’s expectations.

Yue Tingfeng’s shadow was projected onto the wall at the end of the hallway. The blurry light made his shadow seem larger than usual. He had a cold look on his face. A sinister glare could be seen through his eyes, it was as if he was a completely different person when he was with Yan Qingsi.

“It was exactly as you predicted. After Yan Songnan was apprehended, the first thing he did was snitch on Miss. Yan. Yue Tingfeng squinted his eyes and said, “Then just roofie her drink. That will make her absolutely resent Yan Songnan.”

“What do you mean?”Jiang Lai asked.

“I mean, place a wedge against them. Use Nie Qiuping’s death as a wedge. Also, include that dead secretary that worked for him all those years ago. That way, it will completely fracture any truces they both had for each other. Pit them against each other, that’ll make them reveal everything on their own!” Yue Tingfeng explained.

A mad man like Yan Songnan would drool over the thought of having another safeguard. If he eventually falls, he would have another person to cushion his fall. Nie Qiuping’s death had always been their deepest darkest secret both sworn to take to their graves. To break them, only one of them would be required to crack and both of them will eventually implode in their cover-up.

Yue Tingfeng had tasked Jiang Lai to research any information related to Yan Qingsi’s mother’s death. Although her death was ruled as suicide, the truth would always be more than it seems on the surface. By digging deeper, Jiang Lai had found out Yan Qingsi’s mother was being threatened by someone. Without any other options, she jumped off a building. Her death was never a suicide. It was an intentional homicide.

Yue Tingfeng had seemingly understood Yan Qingsi even more than he did before. If it was as simple as revenge, she would not have waited and bide her time for so long.

Upon hanging up, Yue Tingfeng returned to the room and noticed that Yan Qingsi was already asleep while Helan Fangnian was lying on his side.

This sudden act had woken Yan Qingsi up from her deep slumber instantly, she noticed she was laying on top of Yue Tingfeng’s back. Surprised and shocked, she asked, “What on earth are you doing?”

With an empty look, he simply answered, “Doing something I wanted to a long time ago.”
