Out of sudden, Helan Fangnian held down Yue Tingfeng’s hand and said, “What’s the hurry, I am quite interested in how much you were rated.”

Yue Tingfeng gritted his teeth and said, “What now, guess you weren’t mute after all.”

Helan Fangnian simply smiled and replied, “Now, don’t change the subject. I am very interested in her answer after all.”

Yan Qingsi stepped on the both of them in response. She replied, “I refuse to answer even if you’re dying to know. If you’re really desperate to gauge your skills, go on and find some other girl to rate your performance then.”

Both of them were stunned by her apparent outburst, Yue Tingfeng pouted and said, “That would be an impossible task for me. I happen to be a loyal and pure soul, all I need is you, Fangnian however, could give it a shot…”

Yue Tingfeng was on a win streak for the following rounds. Helan Fangnian had a few wins mixed in. Unfortunately for Yan Qingsi, she had been losing hard.

Her continuous losing streak pushed her to the brink of tears. She thought to herself if they were actually gambling with real money, she would be left with absolutely nothing. Not even the clothes on her back.

Helan Fangnian placed his final card as he looked at Qingsi and said, “I don’t think I have anymore questions for you, but I do have something to tell you for quite some time now. I hope you’ll listen to what I had to get off my chest.”

“What if I don’t want to hear about it?” Yue Tingfeng said as he flings his card onto the pile.

“Too bad for you then!” Helan Fangnian replied.

Yan Qingsi had absolutely no feelings left for Helan Fangnian. To call them friends however, the truth was, all those years ago, they truly were friends. Now would be a little complicated as to their relationship… She was unsure where he stood in her world.

Yan Qingsi placed her cards down gently and said, “Go ahead.”

Helan Fangnian looked at Yan Qingsi with a serious expression on his face. He said, “These past couple of days were like a blur to me. I really wanted to forget about you and move on, however, I’ve come to realize that the harder I try, the harder it is and so, all I could do was to drown myself in work to distract my focus from you. This can only work whenever I’m working, for the times that I wasn’t, I didn’t know what to do. I was completely lost.”

Yue Tingfeng pouted and teased him, “Hmph, you’re lost… Why don’t you lose your body too!”

Helan Fangnian could only force a bitter smile as he simply replied, “Talking about these, gets me quite emotional, I don’t want your sympathy, all I wanted was to talk to you. I can’t move on from you. It’s like my heart is constantly reminding me of that memory.”

“I came back to look for you then, but you had already left. I’m so sorry that I was too late to return, I don’t want to force anything on you, the only thing is, can we… still be friends? Just good old regular, normal friends.” Helan Fangnian added.

Yue Tingfeng chuckled sarcastically and said, “Good old regular friends? Stop joking now would you. There is no regular friends between a man and a lady.”

He turned to ask Yan Qingsi, “What if I told you we should be regular friends, would you believe me?”

“Regular friends that would embark on a sex binge that promises to reach a pleasure nirvana to the point of blacking out friends?” Yan Qingsi replied while giving him a side gaze.

“Hmph, you’re smart.” Yue Tingfeng said as he leaned in for a kiss.

After his kiss, he turned to Fangnian with a smug look on his face and said, “I dare to kiss her after proclaiming I would. What about you?”

Yan Qingsi playfully pushed his head aside after hearing his snarky comment.

“Thank you for saving me today, if you think that we could still be regular friends…then so be it.” Said Yan Qingsi

Yan Qingsi felt slightly grateful to Helan Fangnian. He was there to walk her through her darkest most desolate moments of her life with her. Even if there was never any romantic feelings involved, friendship was clearly built during that time of her life years ago.

Yue Tingfeng was slightly offended. He said, “I saved you too today. Where’s my gratitude?”

Yan Qingsi playfully brushed her fingers on his neck, leaned in with a tight kiss to shut him up and released him after a brief moment as she patted his head and said, “Good boy.”
