Yan Qingsi was doubly certain that Yue Tingfeng would call her again soon, even if she did not return his earlier calls.

True enough, Yue Tingfeng’s call came.

She waited a good ten seconds before picking it up and asking, “What’s up?”

“What were you doing?”

Luo City’s nighttime temperatures were not that cold in June, but even with the phone separating them, she could feel the coldness in Yue Tingfeng’s voice.

A burst of anxiety surfaced in Yue Tingfeng’s heart. He had the nagging feeling that Yan Qingsi’s downfall would come at any time because of his inability to get a hold of her.

He said sternly, “Yan Qingsi. I’ve said it before. I can give you anything you want.”

Yan Qingsi faced the windy night as she walked on the street, saying, “I’ll get what I want by myself.”

There was no way she would let someone else exact vengeance on behalf of her and her mother.

Some things had to be done on one’s own. She did not have a care in the world about what the future held or whether she might face her fall—the only thing she wanted was to see death befall the Yan family.

Yue Tingfeng felt irritated. “Where are you?”

Yan Qingsi hung up and switched off her phone.

“Are you going, too?”
