The Zhang Corporation had become one of the leading companies within Shenzhen as soon as Zhang Jiren took over the management. It had come as a shock when everyone heard that Zhang Jiren suddenly resigned. No one knew his reasons but as the rumors about him being on his deathbed spread, it made sense why he made a sudden departure from Zhang Corporation. 

However, none of them knew that it was all part of Zhang Jiren and Feng Tianyi’s plans. Zhang Jiren had to leave the company for Zhang Liang to take his spot. Knowing Zhang Liang’s past misdeeds, the two had expected that he would embezzle that company’s resources to pay off his debts to several people. 

On the sixtieth founding anniversary of Zhang Corporation, Zhang Liang was about to launch the latest project Zhang Jiren prepared before his departure. Zhang Liang might think that luck had fallen in his hands, as he was eager to use this project as a leverage to prove to everyone that the Zhang Corporation didn’t need the illegitimate child to succeed the company. However, he didn’t expect that this was an intricate trap the two devils prepared just for him. They were waiting for him to dive head on, so he could remove the chances of the Zhang family being able to get back on its feet once their plan was executed. 

Song Fengyan placed an invitation with Feng Tianyi’s name on it on the table. Zhang Liang surely didn’t disappoint them this time. He would surely use this chance to brag to everyone. With Zhang Jiren’s health condition, it would be the best opportunity to snatch the spotlight.

“Just as you said, Zhang Liang is eager to erase Zhang Jiren’s name in everyone’s mind.” Song Fengyan couldn’t even believe that Zhang Liang would grab the credit for Zhang Jiren’s hard work. “He also didn’t forget to send you an invitation.” 

“Of course, he wouldn’t.” The devil chuckled before opening the envelope containing his invitation. Zhang Liang wouldn’t dare to forget not to invite him to this event. 

Zhang Liang wouldn’t dare to invite Tang Moyu because Zhang Wuying would never want to see a ghost from her past. Just remembering how that old hag treated his wife during Tang Beixuan’s funeral was enough for Feng Tianyi’s blood to boil from rage.

“But shouldn’t you be explaining to your wife what’s about to happen? I’m sure Sister Moyu wouldn’t be pleased if she hears the truth after the celebration party,” Song Fengyan pointed out. 

“I’m just waiting for Zhang Jiren’s surgery to be done before I tell her.” Feng Tianyi threw the envelope to the nearby trash bin. He could always attend the party without it. 

Zhang Jiren’s surgery should be done by now and Tang Moyu shouldn’t be preoccupied with her brother’s need later. Initially, he wasn’t planning to inform his wife about his and her brother’s plan, but he also understood that Tang Moyu was a person who didn’t want to be left in the dark for too long. 

“I’m worried as to how she would take the news,” he admitted to his cousin. If Tang Moyu wasn’t pregnant, he wouldn’t have to worry about her reaction. He and Zhang Jiren would have allowed her to get involved in their plans if they weren’t worried about her welfare. 

Song Fengyan flopped on the seat across Feng Tianyi’s table and yawned. The days when this devil had been sending him everywhere to get what he wanted to be had been rare these days. If it was because of the empress’s pregnancy that the devil’s demands had lessened, Song Fengyan wasn’t sure. 

“I’m sure Sister Moyu would understand. She’s never an unreasonable person,” he commented. He couldn’t remember a time when Tang Moyu threw a fit over something so trivial. 

“That’s when she’s normal and not pregnant.” Feng Tianyi rubbed the space between his brows and sighed. With his wife’s raging hormones these days, their disagreements were starting to get noticeable by everyone who lived with them. No wonder He Lianchen had tried his best not to get on the bad side of his wife when Gu Yuyao was pregnant. 

But with Tang Moyu, Feng Tianyi wasn’t sure that she would be calm this time. Tang Moyu seemed unpredictable these days and the least thing he wanted right now was a misunderstanding with his wife. 

“Unless you want her to hate you by keeping this information from her…” His cousin gave him a pointed stare, reminding Feng Tianyi that he had no other choice but to inform his wife before the day of the celebration party arrived. 

Feng Tianyi g.r.o.a.n.e.d and rubbed both hands on his face. Wouldn’t it be better if Zhang Jiren informed Tang Moyu the truth instead of him? Since he was Tang Moyu’s twin brother and with a delicate condition, even if Zhang Jiren confessed to his sister now, Tang Moyu wouldn’t be able to react violently over their decision to not impart the information to her sooner. 

But wouldn’t it be too low for someone like Feng Tianyi? If he was to ask Zhang Jiren for help, wouldn’t this make him look guiltier in front of his wife? The last thing Feng Tianyi wanted was to earn Tang Moyu’s ire. 

“Alright. I will do it,” he conceded, knowing that he didn’t have any choice but to come clean to Tang Moyu. Why was it that every time he had something to confess to his wife, he felt guiltier than the last time? He wondered. 

Since the Li family had gotten involved in Zhang Jiren’s surgery, he should be able to recover from his illness. This also meant one less problem for his pregnant wife. With Tang Moyu’s pregnancy progressing, it only made Feng Tianyi’s overprotectiveness persist. If he could, he wanted to take away her worries and deal with them himself.
