Something about Feng Tianyi made Zhang Jiren lift his guards up the moment he saw his sister’s husband. He wasn’t sure why, but the way the devil looked at him felt like Feng Tianyi was trying to get answers from him. If it wasn’t for his need to see his twin sister and meet his nephew and niece, he wouldn’t bother to come here and see the devil himself. 

“It’s my honor to meet you, Feng Tianyi,” he said in response, but it was obvious that he was only saying it out of courtesy. 

“Daddy, this is the other handsome uncle I was talking about!” Little Star grinned at her father. “It turns out that he’s mommy’s cousin so he’s my uncle, too!” She beamed with a smile before stretching her arms out, wanting her father to take her from Zhang Jiren. 

Zhang Jiren carefully passed his niece back to his brother-in-law and suddenly felt lost. He was enjoying Little Star’s company since this had been the first time he was able to hold her in his arms. 

Tang Feiyu, who was watching him intently, didn’t miss this sudden change in Zhang Jiren’s mood. It was only natural that people would like his twin sister because of her adorable looks and outgoing personality, even though they weren’t aware of how mischievous this cute little girl could be. 

“Let’s go and have dinner, shall we?” Feng Tianyi said, garnering everyone’s attention before he turned to face his friend, He Lianchen. “Lianchen, are you sure you aren’t going to join us tonight?” 

He Lianchen shook his head and sighed. He needed to come home soon, or else Gu Yuyao would be upset again. She was starting to get unpredictable these days due to her pregnancy. It must be her hormones messing up with her brain. 

“No, Grandpa is paying us a visit tonight. I should go before my wife skins me alive for being late again,” he said. He then kissed Little Star’s cheek and patted Xiao Bao’s head affectionately before turning to leave. “Your Auntie Yaoyao and I will go to your house party though.” 

Once He Lianchen left, they immediately moved to the dining room where the dishes had already been served. Conversations flowed easily—courtesy of Tang Wanyu and Tang Beixuan—while Tang Moyu occasionally answered the questions thrown at her. Feng Tianyi only smiled as he listened to the siblings’ conversation. 

This was the first time he and his sisters were complete, Tang Beixuan thought. It didn’t matter if their parents had turned their backs on them as long as they had one another. Looking at his Moyu Jie, he was satisfied and happy that she got the life she had always wanted for herself. Moreover, his Wan Jie was already on her road to recovery from the trauma she suffered from her abusive ex-husband. 

“Have you chosen the date for your wedding ceremony?” Tang Wanyu asked. “Are you planning to throw a grand ceremony, or would it be an intimate one?” 

“Moyu wanted it to be private and intimate. Sister Wanyu and I feel the same. We aren’t some kind of celebrities that need to involve the public with our personal affairs.” It was Feng Tianyi who answered her question. 

“I see…” Tang Wanyu was satisfied with the arrangement. “Actually, I’m afraid that ‘mother’ would make a scene or any of our Tang relatives would suddenly appear and would cause troubles to Moyu.” 

“That’s not possible, Sister Wanyu. Our wedding ceremony is only open to those who are invited. Even if they want to crash our wedding, they needed to get past with our security first,” Tang Moyu said. 

Aside from their ‘mother’ and Tang Zhelan, Tang Moyu didn’t think any other members of the Tang family would force their way and make a scene on her wedding day, not unless they were securing a death warrant with the devil. Everyone was entitled to be stupid once in a while, but she didn’t think they would abuse the privilege by going after her. 

Anyway, as long as they wouldn’t dare to antagonize her this time, Tang Moyu would allow them to live in peace. If they still had some remaining brain cells in their heads, they should know by now. It would be hard to oppose her this time when she had Feng Tianyi backing her up. 

Throughout their conversation, Zhang Jiren remained silent. Even the delicious food they were sharing for dinner tasted bland at that moment. He couldn’t really enjoy the meal he was sharing with his family…

Family? The thought suddenly made him freeze. His eyes swept around him, seeing the people that were no doubt part of his life. This was the first time he was sharing a meal with his sister and her children. 

Feng Tianyi was now his brother-in-law while Tang Beixuan and Tang Wanyu were adopted children of his father. Would this mean that all of them were his family? For the first time in his whole life, Zhang Jiren felt like he belonged to this small family. They might have not known who he truly was, but that was alright. It was all for his sister’s sake. 

As if he knew what Zhang Jiren was thinking at that moment, Feng Tianyi smiled behind his cup. Zhang Jiren avoided his gaze and looked at his sister instead, who was still oblivious about their relationship as siblings. 

“Uncle Jiren, are you going to attend my mommy and daddy’s wedding?” Little Star asked him curiously. 

“I’m not sure how to answer that, Little One. It depends on your parents whether they want me to attend or not,” he said in reply. As much as he wanted to be part of his sister’s special day, he didn’t want to intrude. 

“Of course, your Uncle Jiren is welcome to attend.” Feng Tianyi said, earning a questioning gaze from his wife. Even now, Tang Moyu was curious why he easily agreed to allow Zhang Jiren to come here.
