With the help of a few manual laborers, the garden was now clean. The pond and the waterfall on the other hand, were being restored. With the help of the old gardener, the weeping cherry tree was pruned and treated from mild infestation and it started to look better compared to the first time Feng Tianyi saw it. 

At night, Tang Moyu arrived at the guest house to fetch her children, but before they went back to the main house, Feng Tianyi usually had already prepared dinner for them to share.

Tang Moyu seemed busier these days and her plan was progressing well. Some of her relatives started to sell their shares, thinking that even the renowned empress wouldn’t be able to save Tang Enterprise. 

That day, Feng Tianyi finished cooking their dinner early and decided to read a book while the twins were wrapped up with whatever cartoon they were watching on the television. Tang Moyu wouldn’t usually arrive until six in the evening.

The lack of conversation wasn’t an issue with Feng Tianyi since he was used to living alone, but that didn’t mean he didn’t welcome some proper conversation. The front door of the guest house opened and he saw Tang Moyu stepped in, glancing around the house before her gaze landed on the three of them. 

A slight smile tugging her lips before she placed a shopping bag on the nearest surface and shrugged off her jacket. 

“How was work?” Feng Tianyi asked with a smile as he closed the book he was reading earlier. 

“Very busy, but I can manage.” The empress replied before leaning down towards her children to give them a kiss on their cheeks. “I have a treat for you.” 

Feng Tianyi noticed the tiredness on her face, but as soon as she saw her children, he noticed how her face brightened up with a smile. 

“What is it, Mommy?” Little Star asked eagerly. There were times their Mommy brought them treats when she came back from work. 

“Can we eat it?” Xiao Bao asked curiously, his eyes trying to take a peek at the container inside the bag Tang Moyu brought with her. 

“After dinner.” Tang Moyu smiled at her little buns. “That is if your tummies still have room for desserts later.” 

“Dessert?!” Little Star exclaimed gleefully. Eating desserts was one of her favorite times to spend with her Mommy. 

Tang Moyu nodded while Feng Tianyi laughed at the children’s excitement. Before meeting these little buns, he thought that he wouldn’t be able to tolerate being with children, because he had a bad experience with them before. 

However, these little buns were so easy to please. They tend to be mischievous at times, but they listen well to him whenever he asks them for something. 

After their dinner, the twins ran back to the living room, each carrying a plate with a slice of chocolate mousse cake. They sat on the thick carpet watching nursery songs on the huge flat-screen smart TV. Both were absorbed in it while eagerly devouring their cakes. 

“How much more do you need to get the majority of the shares?” Feng Tianyi asked her as he wiped the dishes dry while he and Tang Moyu watched her children, slumped on the floor eating their desserts. 

Tang Moyu released the top buttons of her white long-sleeved dress shirt and removed the ties of her long hair, which in effect, tumbled down behind her back. She ran her fingers through her thick mane and sighed. 

“Twelve percent but it wouldn’t take too long before I can secure my position in the company.” She assured him. 

Feng Tianyi didn’t try to squeeze more information from her, knowing that she might start to suspect his motives. He continued working on his task while Tang Moyu took the time to clear her head. 

“This would have been easy if Feng Tianhua didn’t mess with my family,” she muttered to herself but was loud enough for Feng Tianyi to hear. 

He stilled for a moment, surprised at how easy it was for her to utter her ex-fiance’s name in his presence. Feng Tianyi had to remind himself that Tang Moyu wasn’t aware of his real identity. 

“Feng Tianhua? How so?” He asked nonchalantly, hoping that she wouldn’t get suspicious with his prying. 

Tang Moyu eyed him for a moment and gave him a vague smile. 

“I guess you know who he is, don’t you?” 

Feng Tianyi only answered her with a smile, refusing to give her a proper answer. 

“I didn’t think he hated me to the extent of unleashing his wrath, making the Tang family suffer. For the past five years, he’d managed to cut whatever connection my family had with other businessmen.” 

Did he do it for Xing Yiyue? Tang Moyu pondered. She and Feng Tianhua had already cut their ties with each other. There’s no need for him to spite her family when they hadn’t done anything wrong towards him. 

Tang Moyu might not understand, but Feng Tianyi knew the reason for his half-brother’s action. 

Whether the Tang family wronged him or not, the fact that they had the ability to help Tang Moyu and give her a stepping stone to return was their offense. Feng Tianhua was just trying to remove the obstacle, making sure Tang Moyu wouldn’t be able to seek revenge on him.
