Tang Moyu and Cheng Ning returned to the hotel late in the evening. Their rooms were just next to each other so there was no reason for Tang Moyu to worry about her young assistant. 

“Have some rest and sleep early. One more day and then we’ll be flying to Beijing and then we could take a short break.” She told Cheng Ning before entering her suite, closing the door after hearing Cheng Ning bidding her good night. 

The moment she closed the door, Tang Moyu felt something was wrong within her room. The breakfast she left in the dining area was tidied up, fresh flowers replaced the ones she’d seen that morning before leaving.

Her eyes narrowed, her feet making light steps as she strode quietly towards her bedroom. She heard the shower running. 

Tang Moyu immediately ran towards the small kitchen of her suite to find something to use for self-defense. Although she was good on hand to hand combat, there was no telling what kind of person had trespassed her room. 

She couldn’t find anything but glass tumblers and plates. She had no other choice but to improvise. Tang Moyu took one of the glass tumblers and broke it at the corner of the counter. 

She could use one of the vases, but Tang Moyu would rather pay for a broken glass tumbler than spend a fortune over a vase that held no other value than for decoration purposes. 

“Who’s there?” She called out, turning the doorknob of her bedroom, ready to stab whoever intruded her room.

Did she enter the wrong room? She wondered. Tang Moyu shed her outer coat, her eyes sweeping around the room cautiously.

No, she was sure this was her room. She’d been very careful whenever she was on a business trip, not daring to touch any alcohol or enter someone else’s room. 

“Moyu, it’s me.” 

Tang Moyu pushed the door and saw Feng Tianyi sitting on her bed, wearing a white robe, with a towel over his head. His cane was leaning next to bed as he looked at her with a grin on his face. 

The empress was shocked as she wasn’t expecting him to see him here in Hangzhou. She lowered the hand which was holding the broken glass and sighed. 

“What are you doing here?” She said with unconcealed annoyance in her tone. “You aren’t supposed to be here. What about Baobao and Little Star?” She threw the glass into the trash bin and crossed her arms.

“My mother is with them. She volunteered to look after them while I came here to pick you up. I’m worried, Moyu.” Feng Tianyi said in defense. “You are the only one missing there and I’m worried about you being here alone.” 

“Still… You should have given me a call, Tianyi. What you did isn’t right. You should have given me a call first and not trespass my room! How did you even know my room number and get access inside?”

If it was another person, Tang Moyu wouldn’t think twice and subdue whoever it was. There was no way in hell she would fall for someone’s scheme again. 

What if it was Cheng Ning who was attacked and not her? Tang Moyu wouldn’t be able to forgive herself if her assistant got hurt because of her again.

“Uhm… This hotel is actually owned by Qing Tian Group, so…” Feng Tianyi held up his hands, looking guilty for his offences. “I’m sorry, Moyu. I won’t do it again.” 

Tang Moyu gave him a pointed glare and sighed. What else could she do? He’s already here. It wasn’t like she could kick him back to Beijing, where he was supposed to be waiting for her. 

“You showered here. Please don’t tell me you’re staying the night here.” 

Feng Tianyi shrugged before standing, holding onto her for balance, before pulling her into an embrace.

“I’m sorry but I’m just missing you. I mean no harm coming here unannounced.” 

“I’ve only been away for two days, Tianyi.” Tang Moyu said in a matter of fact tone. This wasn’t the first time she went on a business trip since they became a couple. 

“So what? I miss you, so I came to personally pick you up. Baobao and Little Star would be happy to know you’ll be returning with me.” He looked down at her with a grin before kissing her lips gently, teasing her.

The next kiss that followed was heated, as if he wanted to devour her, claim her as his until no other man would dare to take her away from him. He knew it was reckless on his part, to fly here alone to see his woman, but Feng Tianyi just wanted to make sure she would be safe. 

Dear Lord, he would never have enough of her. She was addictive and enchanting at the same time. Meanwhile, Tang Moyu softly m.o.a.ned on their kiss. Her mind was in a blur as she kissed him back, as passionately as she could. She couldn’t understand why she lost her senses whenever he held her like this.

Tang Moyu pulled away from him, the wetness of the water on him starting to seep through her clothes. She needed to clear her mind or else this would lead into something she might regret later.

“You are wet.” She blinked, trying to clear her thoughts. She looked down at her white dress shirt that was starting to clung on her chest. 

Feng Tianyi smiled devilishly. 

“And I think you’re dirty. Wanna share the shower with me?” 

It was only then that the empress’s mind regained its logical state and truly pulled away from his hold. Her face flushed red at the meaning of his words. No… this was too early for her. She wasn’t ready for this yet.

“No, thanks. I’ll go take a shower. Order dinner for us, will you? And dress up, for goodness sake!” 

“You still choose dinner over me?” He asked in false exasperation.
