Without Kang Oh, they couldn’t kill Jigon, nor could they complete the goddess’s task. 

Cyndia and her companions went as white as a sheet. ‘Ah, Goddess!’

Meanwhile, the Draco Tribe looked ready to fight till the bitter end. 

Helena furrowed her brow, while Bart considered running. Was he worried about Jigon? Nope. He was worried about Kang Oh.

‘That demonic beast may show up again.’

In the past, Bart and Kang Oh had hunted Wukong together. 

At the time, Kang Oh had died. And when he did, he transformed into a fearsome demonic beast that devoured both Wukong and his companions.

Would that happen this time too?

He thought it would when Kang Oh said ‘I’ll be back.’.

“It’s ok. Mr. Kang Oh is alright.” Sephiro calmed down his companions.

“He’s alright?” Helena asked.

The Sage class had a secret technique called Transmigration of Souls. This spell allowed the user to revive themselves and others.

A player could also be revived via items that possessed the ‘Resurrection’ ability.

Garius’s Ring (SS-rank) was one such item that possessed this ability. It was owned by Gradon’s guildmaster.

“Yes,” Sephiro quickly said.

“Understood.”

“Ok.”

Helena and Bart’s expressions brightened. They finally understood what Kang Oh meant.

“Mr. Kang Oh will be back, so please attack Jigon. Our long-range attacks should work now!” Sephiro yelled.

It certainly seemed that way. After all, Kang Oh’s attacks had destroyed Jigon’s breastplate and helmet.

However, Jigon struck first. Once he regained his bearings, he flew towards Kang Oh’s party. 

“All that’s left for you is despair.”

As always, he held the fearsome Black Sun within his hand. 

Roar!

The black flames spread over a large area.

Kang Oh’s companions flew all over the place. However, not all of them were capable of dodging the black flames.

“Uaaahk!”

A paladin’s face contorted in pain as his body was engulfed in flames.

Roar!

He was vaporized instantly.

The Church of Death didn’t have that many people left. They had Cyndia, twelve paladins, and seven priests. Twenty people in total, even though they’d started with a hundred. 

‘Oh, Goddess. Please watch over us so that we can fulfill the duty you left for us.’

“Take heart, everyone. The goddess will watch over us,” Cyndia yelled, sporting a resolute expression.

“Yes, ma’am!”

“Understood!”

The paladins raised their shields and flew around Jigon. They would do whatever it took to draw Jigon’s attention.

Bart, Helena, and Sephiro bombarded Jigon with attacks.

“Grr!”

Waryong just barely dodged the black flames, while Sephiro forcefully drew his bowstring.

Whizz.

The arrow flew from his fingertips, and fiercely spun as it made its way to its target.

Sun Piercing Arrow!

Thwock!

The arrow pierced Jigon’s shoulder. Sephiro had been aiming for his throat, but Jigon had twisted his body right before it hit.

Helena and Bart were up next.

Torrent!

A refreshing stream of water erupted from Helena’s staff. 

Summon Wind Spirit!

Bart cast an Elementalist spell.

A wind spirit, which emanated dim light, flew towards Jigon.

Then…

Jigon drew a circle with his off-hand.

Sun God’s Glance!

As a result, a blinding, incandescent light filled the sky as if a flash-bang had gone off.

Normally, Jigon didn’t feel the need to use such crude methods to deal with insects like them. He would just crush them with his overwhelming strength like a child stomping on an ant.

Bart’s Chaos Sphere came after.

Kang Oh had seen Helena and Bart unleash these attacks. Thus, he had bought some time so that their attacks could hit.

Boom!

The Chaos Sphere resulted in a massive explosion. Bart was one step away from becoming a Master, so the attack was far more powerful than before.

“Kuhaaahk!”

Jigon was caught in the explosion without his golden armor.

What about Kang Oh?

A yellow full moon appeared within the explosion.

Kang Oh had used Moon’s Protection, which shielded him from all attacks for 3 seconds. Fortunately, he had remained unscathed.

However, Jigon was immortal. Kang Oh, Helena, and Bart’s attacks had put his HP to 0.

The black flames consumed Kang Oh’s barrier.

A jet-black greatsword pierced through Jigon’s chest.

Jigon turned his head and saw a horned demon.

Moon’s Protection had been bait. Right after he used it, he used Abyss Transfer to escape. Then, he appeared behind Jigon and launched a surprise attack.

Jigon tried swinging the Black Sun again. However, it dwindled in size until it disappeared completely.

The Black Sun wasn’t the only thing that disappeared. Ubist’s darkness devoured Jigon’s body too.

His eternal twin, Mayanes Krishan, had entrusted him with her sources and her seed, and had asked him to revive her.

‘Sorry. I don’t think I’ll be able to fulfill that…’
