When Xiao Nian arrived, he saw Fu Sichen and the cat engaged in a game of tug-of-war.

Fu Sichen wanted to keep walking, but the cat refused. He bit Fu Sichen’s trousers and was tugging in the other direction.

“You don’t want to go with me?” Fu Sichen said with a faint expression on his face. “Stay at home if you don’t want to go.”

He bent over to pry the Persian cat away, but the cat was too agile. The cat slipped out of Fu Sichen’s grasp before turning around to bite him.

“Tsk.”

Xiao Nian coughed twice, embarrassed by what he was seeing. He tried to make his presence known, “Best Actor Fu, where are you heading off to?”

Fu Sichen acknowledged Xiao Nian’s presence by replying, “It’s none of your business.”

Xiao Nian shrugged.

He didn’t have much of a choice. His artiste Pei Zhen was now at the mercy of Fu Sichen. Xiao Nian told himself to be the bigger person and to exercise tolerance. He forced himself to put a pleasing smile on his face, “There’s something wrong with your cat. You know, Best Actor Fu, most pets stop their owners from leaving because they have ominous premonitions.”

Xiao Nian’s expression was serious, but Fu Sichen only laughed cynically in response. “What the hell are you talking about?”

“I’m telling the truth!” Xiao Nian continued, feeling a little hurt, “At least, that’s what happens in movies.”

Fu Sichen didn’t say anything in response.

He shot Xiao Nian a look of derision. In any case, he had decided not to go out anymore. Fu Sichen bent over to pick up the cat, “Okay, okay. Stop biting me. I’m not going out anymore.”

Xiao Nian’s had a big smile on his face. He kept bowing while sending Fu Sichen off to his bedroom. But as soon as the bedroom door shut, his smile disappeared.

“Oh my big Daddy.” Xiao Nian turned around and hugged the cat. He said while crying, “I’m begging you! Turn into a human again!”

Daddy Pei Zhen felt as though all of the air was squeezed out of him. He waved Xiao Nian away with his paw. He opened his eyes wide, in an effort to communicate just how much he wanted to be human again.

At this point, Pei Zhen was extremely frustrated.

This whole kissing business— even though he had succeeded in foiling Fu Sichen’s attempt today, he knew that he wouldn’t necessarily be able to do it the next time it happened.

Xiao Nian cupped his face with his hands and shook his head.

Pei Zhen tried his best to keep calm. [Do you have any leads?]

Xiao Nian shook his head, his face still cupped in his hands.

By now, Pei Zhen really wanted to give him a vicious scratch. [Damn it! Hurry up and continue the search then! Why did you come here! Are you trying to rub it in or something?!?!]
