The afternoon class passed in a blur.

Gu Mengmeng had yet to recover from the shock of her sudden change in status from poor student to multimillionaire tycoon owner of a billion dollar enterprise.

Snakel, this second-year academic genius, behaved like there was absolutely no need for him to attend classes. He came to school everyday just to follow Gu Mengmeng around according to her lesson schedule. He only attended classes which Gu Mengmeng had to go and accompanied her around the campus whenever she had free periods. When Gu Mengmeng skipped class, he did the same with her.

Gu Mengmeng didn’t have any classes this afternoon, so Snakel led her to the basketball club.

Gu Mengmeng didn’t have any prior plans and she was used to Snakel leading her by the nose—he stuck to her side all the time now such that it had already become a habit. It was like they had been conjoined twins from birth, and never felt anything strange about being together all the time.

When they reached the basketball club, Zhan Jin Cheng and the rest were already warming up. Bai Lan was sitting by the basketball court holding onto a bottle of mineral water and watching Zhan Jin Cheng and the rest train. She shouted out words of encouragement now and then.

On seeing Gu Mengmeng approach, Bai Lan flung the bottle to the side and flew over to give her a big hug. She cackled. “Girl, miss me?”

Gu Mengmeng glanced at Zhan Jin Cheng with a sour expression. “So what if I miss you? You are now in the sweet honeymoon phase, enjoying the cool spring breeze and happy as a lark, right? In this world, one only has eyes for the joyful smile of a new bride, who would heed the cries of an ugly spinster…”

“That’s not true!” Completely ignoring Snakel’s existence, Bai Lan looped one arm around Gu Mengmeng’s neck and dragged her out from Snakel’s arms. She said as they walked, “Just like new clothes, old acquaintances are the best. There’s no way a new fancy is better than an old love, right? Just say the word and I will immediately ditch Zhan Jin Cheng and fly off shoulder to shoulder with you. How about that?”

Gu Mengmeng could see that Snakel’s face had gone pale and then green, and was now turning a bit black.

She poked Bai Lan. “Forget it, I am not going to split up a happy couple.”

“Chey, coward.” Bai Lan had noticed that Gu Mengmeng was carefully observing Snakel’s expression. She smirked but didn’t continue teasing her.

Bai Lan was loud and careless, but she would never do anything to put Gu Mengmeng in a tight spot.

She could see that Gu Mengmeng was firmly within Snakel’s grasp. This was Gu Mengmeng’s first love affair and she was no match for someone like Snakel. To ensure that Gu Mengmeng wouldn’t suffer when she was not around, Bai Lan knew when to hold back so that Snakel wouldn’t use her as an excuse to bully Gu Mengmeng.

Bai Lan had naturally designated Snakel as the dominant party in the relationship due to his imperious manner and intimidating aura. But actually….strictly speaking, Snakel’s experience with love affairs was on par with Gu Mengmeng’s. Their knowledge on romance was sourced directly from Korean dramas and novels. The difference was that Gu Mengmeng had actively watched and read those material, while Snakel had passively absorbed the content from the bits and pieces in Gu Mengmeng’s memories.

In other words, all they had were theoretical knowledge. This new relationship was their first taste of a real-life romance and no one could mock the other for lack of experience.

Snakel was displeased that Bai Lan had snatched Gu Mengmeng from his embrace but couldn’t openly drag her back. He had no choice but to just stroke her head and say, “I will go change now. Don’t stray too far off. I want to see you the moment I come out of the changing room.”

“Alright,” Gu Mengmeng answered compliantly with a sweet smile.

Snakel’s mood improved quite a bit at this, automatically dismissing Bai Lan’s behavior. He returned with a warm smile of his own, before turning and entering the changing room.
