Badge in Azure Chapter 977 Divine Chaptery Part 1

It was been said that when Gods reincarnated, there would only be divine fire and no souls. That woman could hardly be considered a real God either, since she was grade-12 and she was only as powerful as an Oracle. Under the control of the Goddess of Myers’ Shackles of the Fallen, she did not even possess a divine persona.

She could only be considered as a person fallen who possessed powerful divine spells. Her reincarnation was slightly different that of a God.

The infant began to chant her unique curse. The power in her old body was being slowly absorbed and broken down into nutrients to nourish new her body.

Her tiny body was expanding and growing as she was screaming in pain. She was still putting on a painful smile as she looked at Saleen’s elemental magic tower.

Her memory was complete, so she knew where she came from and what she needed to do. The first thing she needed to do was destroy the magic tower and convert everyone inside into her disciples. She would make them submit to her and fight for her.

It was time to return to the Mainland so that the glory of the Goddess of Nature might shine upon the entire dimension!

Saleen felt uneasy as she gazed at him. It would take another two hours for Lex to be able to teleport the mini magic cannon over. He had no idea what extent this infant would grow after two hours.

“Master, why don’t we just kill her?” Nailisi asked nervously.

“My Lord, she looks like a divine baby, but that’s impossible unless someone on the Mainland has broken through to grade-13 and the rule of power has been shaken…” Nicholas was contradicting himself.

“What is a divine baby?”

“It is something that can grow into a pseudogod without having to undergo any training.”

Saleen’s eyes widened. “Pseudogod?” Saleen already knew that pseudogods were grade-13 creatures, but the power on Myers Mainland should still be capped at grade-12.

That did not bode well. Although Saleen was no match for a grade-12 creature, he had his clan badge, which would be able to lock on to an enemy of the same high-order position once it reached grade-10. Once the enemy reached grade-13, he would no longer be able to lock onto his target.

His clan badge would no longer be a weapon that could decide the outcome of a battle if the opponent was grade-13.

“Nicholas, that woman has absorbed more than 2,000 grade-9 creatures. Those creatures cannot possibly help the divine baby advance to grade-13,” Saleen analyzed calmly.

Nicholas nodded his head slowly. It is not easy to advance from grade-9 to grade-10. It is even more difficult to advance from grade-12 to grade-13. Even if there were 20,000 grade-9 creatures, there is nothing they could do to help a grade-12 creature advance to grade-13.

“Hehe…” The infant’s laughter grew louder. Her voice was chilling, still sounding like the voice of an adult. “Blasphemers, all of you shall be cleansed by me!”

Her body was growing faster than before, and she was almost a yard tall. She had become a child and was able to stand. The mysterious chanting of the curse came from the altar once again. There were still thousands of grade-9 creatures below the altar. The moment they heard the chanting, they all began to walk up the altar one by one.

The child sat down on the steps of the altar. She did not devour the humanoid creatures that were climbing up the altar. The creatures walked to her and knelt down. The child placed her hand on a humanoid creature’s head and rubbed it. There was a green divine glow as the creature’s blue flesh became human skin.

“I, Myers, the only God of the Mainland dimension, grant you liberation.” The child’s voice was clear and crisp.

“Almighty Myers, you are my only God!” The creature, who had turned into a human, kissed the toes of the child and got up to stand at attention behind her. A second humanoid creature followed closely behind.

“D**n it, she really is a divine baby!” Nicholas cursed in disbelief. Saleen’s expression was solemn.

“My Lord, that is Blessings spell. Those grade-9 creatures were originally humans but turned into monsters for some reason. If not for the divine baby, they would never have been able to revert to human form!” Nicholas was speaking very quickly. He wished he could transfer all his knowledge on the divine baby to Saleen immediately.

“How strong is the divine baby?”

“Very strong!”

“Would grade-10 elemental creatures be able to get the situation under control?”

“No, it’s impossible!”

“How powerful are those disciples that have reverted to human form?”

“About the same as elemental creatures. They are only grade-9, so they are not particularly strong yet. If My Lord decides to take charge of the battle personally, six elemental creatures will be able to match up with thrice the number of grade-9 disciples.”

Saleen shook his head. There were more than 1,000 grade-9 disciples, but how many elemental creatures did he have left? The divine baby was still growing. It was as if the clan badge in his hands could sense how he was feeling, and it began to warm slightly. Within the deep crack of the clan badge, blue light was turning into liquid, as if it was ready to unleash a lightning attack.

“What would teacher do? Kill the divine baby in her cradle or wait patiently?” In about an hour’s time, Saleen would be able to get his hands on the mini magic cannon.

The power of the mini magic cannon could not be underestimated, especially within an attacking range of five miles. Saleen had yet to see any magic shields that were able to block the magic cannon. After the Sregl Island mages arrived, they conducted some experiments and found that the mini magic cannon was able to shoot through six grade-9 shields that had been placed in a magic array.

The experiment even destroyed one of Saleen’s mini magic buildings.

The ability of the mini magic cannon to attack a fixed target was equivalent to an all-out attack of a grade-10 opponent. During the second dynasty, that type of mini magic cannon was already an important weapon of a combat vessel.

If the divine baby was not going to leave the altar, Saleen could very well clinch victory with his mini magic cannon. The worst thing that could happen was for the divine baby to leave the altar. Taking into account the grade-9 disciples, the slow speed of the mini magic cannon’s attack, and the fact that it would not be able to lock on to powerful targets, even Saleen’s clan badge might not be decisive by then.

Both Nailisi and Nicholas were panicking. Nailisi, in particular, recalled how she almost lost Saleen in the battle against the Angel of Fear. The Angel of Fear completely ignored her provocation and only aimed at Saleen. Nailisi did not want something like that to happen again, no matter what.

Nicholas was afraid as well. It had not been easy for Saleen to finally accept him and provide him with the best conditions to advance to grade-10. If Saleen was to die, he would be terribly upset, not just because of the benefits he would lose, but also the protection and safety that he felt from Saleen.

Everyone in Saleen’s group had always been united in resisting external forces. Other than Nailisi, who was sometimes difficult to handle, the rest have never had any ill intentions towards him. Nicholas loved the sense of security he had serving Saleen. He did not have to worry about any backstabbing, and he could enjoy the support of the entire group.

If he were in the Holy See, only the most powerful would get to possess something like his soul blood tower. Nicholas might be a grade-9 Holy Master, but he would still be pushed to the outskirts of the core of power.

“Don’t worry. If the divine baby was so powerful she would’ve attacked the tower by now. She is not confident, so she is blessing her disciples in order to restore their combat abilities.” Saleen’s gentle voice soothed Nailisi and Nicholas.

Before the grade-9 monsters had reverted to human form, their fighting style was simplistic. Without the command of the child, they could only count on outnumbering their enemies. The speed at which the divine baby was restoring the combat abilities of the disciples was slow. Saleen’s analysis was right; the divine baby needed time to grow.

Whichever party had more time on their side would be able to take the initiative.

Nicholas recalled the time when he had just become a Holy Master, his superior would tell him that greed was a sin that he must stay away from. It seemed that Saleen was too greedy because he was putting his life at risk.

Saleen’s analysis made sense though. The divine baby could not possible advance directly to grade-13 nor even grade-12.

Indeed, humans were the greediest creatures of all. Nicholas looked at Saleen’s calm expression and sighed. Saleen was willing to take such a risk in order to get the biggest reward.

He was not a mage, so he could not understand the way Saleen thought. There was a price to pay for every reward to Saleen. The altar was used by the Goddess of Myers to trap the fallen ones and it was a huge price to pay. The body of that woman was even more precious than the body of the Angel of Fear. It was worth taking the risk for such high-quality materials.

There was no such thing as a free lunch. When he was given flour by Viscount Gugger, it might have been free, but that was because he was worse off than an animal then.

He was a mage at the end of the day and his status as a king was insignificant. He must be willing to put in the effort for whatever rewards he wanted. There was only determination in Saleen’s eyes.

His teacher would definitely have done the same!

The child continued to bless the disciples. One by one the grade-9 monsters reverted to their human bodies and stood on the altar. The child’s body was growing faster. She had become taller than 1.3 yards and her body had already transformed into that of an adolescent. The speed at which she was blessing the disciples was also increasing as she could help four disciples revert back to their human bodies at once.

The power of faith in the grade-9 disciples greatly assisted in suppressing the berserk power in her body. Her gaze shifted towards Saleen’s magic tower and the corner of her mouth curled into an evil grin.

“Don’t these lowly humans know that there is no limit to how much my power can grow? It can grow until I am the most powerful thing in the world!”
