She took a step back again before gradually looking up at Qin Jiayan. Her expression was serene, and there was not a single trace of emotion in her pitch-black eyes.

He then shifted his gaze away and continued to say in a cold, heartless manner, “We’ve had nothing to do with each other for a very long time, and I hope, Mrs. Lin, that you will conduct yourself in that same manner now.”

After he finished speaking, Qin Jiayan took one step back and turned, sneaking a glance at Su Qing out of the corner of his eye. He realized that she continued to watch him as she remained in the same position. Her eyes appeared to be tearing up, but he did not look at her closely enough to be sure and walked away.
