An Ran looked through the peephole.

The old granny was in pain but there was a smile on her face. There was no fear in her expressions.

Her body fell onto the man.

She stopped moving.

The man pushed her body away and went into her house.

He came out in a short while.

This time, An Ran could see the man’s face clearly.

His face was covered in scratches. She could tell that he was a young man. His tongue was sticking out from his mouth and there was red liquid dripping all over. It could be blood, but An Ran was not too sure about that. His eyes were also cloudy.

Suddenly, he turned around and walked in her direction…

An Ran cried out in surprise and quickly retreated.

He Xin held and comforted her, “Don’t be afraid, I’m here.”

“What’s wrong with this world? Why did this happen? The man outside… it was as if he’s a zombie from a movie!”

An Ran had never seen such a scene so clearly. She had only ever watched it on the news.

“Is he even human? The experts said that he can be cured, right? Can we send him to a hospital?”

An Ran looked at He Xin, she was panicking and grabbed his arms.

He Xin kept stroking her head, trying to comfort her.

“Don’t worry. It’s fine as long as we don’t go out.”

‘Bang!’

‘Bang! Bang! Bang!’

Four times!

Someone was hitting the door.

An Ran was dumbfounded while He Xin was stunned.

He did not expect the man to have so much strength.

The man was no longer a human being.

As An Ran said, he was a zombie.

He Xin carefully stood up with An Ran and led her into a room to hide.

He tried his best to remain calm even with the loud noise.

“Honey, do you trust me?”

“What do you mean?”

An Ran’s voice was trembling.

“Trust me, I will protect you.”

“I do trust you.”

An Ran answered firmly.

This greatly encouraged He Xin. He began looking around for something that could be used as a weapon.

Suddenly, a heart-wrenching cry could be heard from the outside.

“Help!!! Ahhhhh, is anyone there?! Sob, save me…”

The cries grew louder and louder.

But then, everything went silent abruptly.

“Is that person dead…?”

He Xin forced a smile and said, “She’ll turn into a zombie. She’s not dead.”

An Ran was troubled.

‘What was the difference between this and death?’

After blocking the door with heavy furniture, He Xin finally let out a sigh of relief.

Meanwhile, Li Ran entered the space again. The vegetables she planted before had matured. They were cabbages.

She received a message from the system.

Glitched interfaces began to appear in front of Li Ran.

What was happening to the space system?

More missions appeared and Li Ran was eager to complete them.

There were other missions such as planting peanut seeds and feeding the animals.

Then, there were blank missions, meaning that she has not unlocked them yet.

Li Ran was very curious. She tried to click on everything in hopes of gaining more information.

Usually, there would be a daily mission that refreshes every day. After completing it, she would receive a reward.

For instance, her previous mission was to learn how to check if the vegetables she had planted were ripened.

After completing the mission, she would be rewarded with experience points and some pink stones.

Pink stones basically worked like money. They could be traded for other items in the system’s mall.

She had managed to collect a hundred pink stones.

Without hesitation, Li Ran bought some peanut seeds. The purchase was successful.

A bag of seeds then appeared out of thin air! It was an extraordinary scene!

Li Ran buried the seeds neatly into the soil. A bag of seeds was just enough to fill up a plot of land. After she was done, she clapped her hands, picked up a bucket, and went to fetch some water.

She needed to fertilize the seeds and managed to get that done swiftly.

Subsequently, she opened the system’s panel and searched through the pile of small icons. There had to be something that could assist her even further!

She finally found something helpful. It was a search bar.

If she wanted, she could search for information on it.

Li Ran was in awe. All kinds of strange things had happened.

[ Enter the wooden house and head to the study. Press on the second button that’s located on the right. A monitoring panel to check the situation of the farm will appear. ]

The words in front of her then gradually disappeared.
