Chapter 67: Worth It

Li Ran complained in her heart. The mysterious space knew everything. She did not want to waste her breath.

After reading the manual, Li Ran finally understood why there were no search results. It was not that there were no cars offered, but because she did not put up any items for trade. She needed to update her own items first before others could view them and make an offer.

Everything could be put up for trade as long as the products were produced in the mysterious space.

Li Ran listed all her eggs, chickens, ducks, and pigs for trade. She also added peanuts, green peppers, cabbages, and other vegetables.

She could not give up and needed to snag even the slightest chance to obtain a car.

When Li Ran clicked on the search bar again, she burst out laughing. Who knew that meat and vegetables could be used to trade for a car?

It was incredible. People were really willing to make such a trade?!

Li Ran looked at the first page and was stunned. There really was such a foolish person.

She immediately contacted the other party and waited for a reply. As long as she could get a car, then everything was worth it.

‘What if they changed their mind and decided to cancel the trade?’

However, once the other party received Li Ran’s message, they instantly sent a reply.

[ I am more than willing to trade. Can we proceed now? ]

Li Ran hurriedly typed her response.

[ Of course! This is only a small matter. ]

However, before Li Ran could finish typing, she received another message.

[ If the quantity is insufficient, there will be a fine. I want ten chicken eggs, ten duck eggs, three chickens, three ducks, and one pig. If there’s no problem, we can start the trade. ]

Li Ran was taken aback for a brief moment but she quickly replied.

[ No problem! ]

[ Great! I’ll give you a discount next time. Thank you very much. ]

It almost felt like the other party was the one who benefited the most from the trade. The person seemed rather impatient too.

Li Ran stared at a top-quality car that she had just obtained. It was glistening. The car was definitely brand new. She clicked her tongue in wonder.

‘I need to take advantage of this barter system!’

Once she thanked the other party, Li Ran closed the interface and left the mysterious space with the car.

Even when she sat in the car, it felt very unbelievable.

Li Ran had packed only enough food for one person and two bottles of water. After putting them away, she set off.

There was a satellite navigation system installed in the car. It surprised Li Ran. She immediately turned it on and a map appeared on the LCD screen. With just a glance, she figured out her current location. The city was just about an hour’s drive away.

Li Ran narrowed her eyes and saw a phone sign on the screen. Out of curiosity, she clicked on it.

There was no way that she could be so lucky to get her hands on a working phone, right?

She entered and dialed Lin Nan’s number. It rang but no one picked up.

In the end, she was directed to the voice mailbox. After a short pause, she decided to leave a message.

“This is Li Ran. I’m fine. Don’t worry. Please get back to me if you received this message.”

[ Voice message sent successfully. ]

Once she heard that, Li Ran’s mood improved.

She became much more energetic and continued her journey while humming a tune.

Li Ran drove slowly and leisurely.

She saw some villages and glanced at them casually. Then, she let out a sigh. It had been a long time since anyone had lived here. The grass had grown abnormally tall!

Nonetheless, it did not bother Li Ran too much and she drove past them.

Li Ran had driven for about ten minutes when she encountered a roadblock. The roadblocks were blatantly placed in the middle of the road. Had Li Ran not been paying attention, she would have crashed into them.

Her car could have easily been totaled!

She stopped the car in anger. The screeching sound of the brakes alarmed the people nearby.

Two people could be seen rushing out from a house. One was a man and the other was a woman. They looked at Li Ran’s car in shock.

‘A brand new car?!’

It was so out of place in their apocalyptic world.

The man shouted excitedly, “Someone’s here! Let’s greet them!”

However, the woman pulled him back and said warily, “We still don’t know who or what is in that car. Don’t be so reckless!”
