Chapter 56: A Good Man Does Not Argue With a Woman

Ji Jingchen never came back. After the two of them finished eating, Peter came in to clean up. Du Jiuyuan talked to Grandmother Ji for a while before Ji Jingchen pushed the door open and entered.

“Yuanyuan, take good care of yourself. If you have any problems, look for me. I will help you vent your anger!” Grandmother Ji left the ward with Ji Jingchen reluctantly.

In the next few days, three meals a day were sent to the ward. Peter was even more restless, and he would leave immediately after cleaning up. Ji Jingchen did not appear in front of Du Jiuyuan, however, there was an extra bouquet of roses in the ward every day. The ward was almost full of flowers.

That day, the nurse came early in the morning to change Du Jiuyuan’s dressing. She once again brought up the matter of being discharged from the hospital. The nurse pushed everything to the doctor and requested for Du Jiuyuan to relay her questions to the doctor instead.

“Your boyfriend is so romantic.” Before the nurse left, she looked at the roses that filled half of the room with envy.

“Do you like it? If you like it, then take it.” Du Jiuyuan got up and changed her clothes. She was ready to look for the doctor to talk about being discharged from the hospital.

The nurse closed the door and left. Du Jiuyuan went to look for the doctor that directly handled the matters related to being discharged from the hospital.

As soon as she walked out of the hospital, Du Jiuyuan saw Peter standing next to the Rolls-Royce.

“Miss Du, allow me to send you home!” Peter’s Cantonese was very fluent.

“Is this hospital being set up just for the Ji family? It seems like my every move is being monitored!” Du Jiuyuan was a little angry. Human rights don’t seem to be respected by the rich and powerful.

“This is the Ji family’s private hospital,” Peter opened the car door and explained.

Du Jiuyuan looked back. This was really the Ji family’s private hospital. It was not easy to get a taxi here, so she did not argue and got in the car.

“Send me to the studio,” Du Jiuyuan instructed.

Midsummer passed without Du Jiuyuan noticing. The temperature in Hong Kong dropped sharply. Du Jiuyuan got out of the car and felt a gust of cold wind. The studio was brightly lit. Du Jiuyuan walked in and saw Ji Yanchen instead of the renovation workers.

Du Jiuyuan thought that Ji Yanchen was still here to cause trouble and was full of hostility. “What are you doing here?”

Ji Yanchen, who was holding the cleaning tools, heard the voice and his face darkened. He threw the tools in his hands on the ground. “This is all your fault. My brother asked me to clean up the paint alone and didn’t allow anyone to help. I’ve never faced such injustice before!”

Ji Yanchen had told his father about this matter. To teach him a lesson, Ji Jingchen had given him this punishment, telling him not to leave until he has cleaned up all the paint on the ground.

Du Jiuyuan inspected the studio. Most of the renovation had been restored, but the paint on the floor had not been cleaned. It would probably be completed within a month and the studio would officially open for business by then.

Du Jiuyuan was thinking about the next step when Ji Yanchen walked behind her and suddenly said, “Go and tell my brother that I am annoying you and you don’t want to see me.”

Du Jiuyuan subconsciously stepped back and Ji Yanchen shouted, “Ah… Du Jiuyuan, you are trying to harm me? Don’t appear suddenly behind me. I won’t be afraid. I’ll only have a huge reaction.” Du Jiuyuan was not the slightest bit flustered. She had always wanted to get rid of Ji Yanchen, so how could she let go of such a good opportunity?

Ji Yanchen felt that he couldn’t win against Du Jiuyuan at all. Moreover, he had a favor to ask of her now. A good man wouldn’t argue with a woman. Hmph!
