Dean sat on the edge of the bed and leaned his body against the headboard, then rubbed Bryana’s forehead so gently. He turned to touch his wife’s slightly damp face, even the pillow was a bit wet with tears.

‘I am sorry, dear … I shouldn’t have left until you’re like this,’ he thought then leaned in, kissing his wife’s forehead gently, lovingly. ‘I will never leave you again. I swear!’

Feeling someone touch her, Bryana woke up because it was difficult for her to sleep well. She stared at the stout hand in front of her, slowly looking up at who was nearby. “Am I dreaming?”

Bryana looked surprised and immediately sat down, looking at Dean who smiled warmly at her. She even patted herself on the cheek to make sure what she saw wasn’t a mirage. “Oh, my God ….”

“You’re not dreaming, honey. It’s me, your husband,” Dean whispered while rubbing Bryana’s cheek with his thumb while shaking his head, looking at her sadly, and then hugging her tightly. “I’m sorry….”

Bryana realized that right now she was not dreaming. She hugged her husband so tightly that her tears could not be held back because she was moved. “Don’t leave me again, I’m almost crazy without you!”

Dean let go of his hand and wiped Bryan’s tears. “No, I won’t leave you again!”

“Don’t lie!” cried Bryana who became annoyed remembering Dean who once said he would never leave her, but he just left. “You often say that word but you leave me, you don’t care about me!”

“I know I was wrong, and I feel tortured when I’m away from you. I beg your pardon, honey. At that time I was really confused, the facts made me unable to think clearly,” said Dean with teary eyes. He couldn’t bear if Bryana would hate him, then asked him to leave. No, he wouldn’t let that happen.

Bryana bowed down. “You left without saying goodbye, without waiting for an explanation from me or dad. Everything is not as bad as you think,” she said, turning her head to look at Dean.

“Please… Don’t bring it up again. it will be painful for me, or you,” Dean exclaimed with a pleading look, then grabbed Bryana’s hands, and held them. “I came back because I love you, I want to grow old with you, you are my future. That’s all I’ll always think about.”

Bryana squinted at Dean, trying to assess his earnestness. “Are you serious? Can you swear you’ll never leave me again?”

Dean put Bryan’s hand to his chest. “I swear I will never leave you again. you are my last love port. I am so grateful to have you so I will never waste you. Give me a chance to correct my mistakes,” he pleaded.

Bryana sighed, then felt Dean’s jaw, which has a thick beard because he hasn’t shaved since he left. “It’s not only your fault, but the circumstances are too cruel to us. I never expected that either….”

“Shh…” Dean put his index finger to Bryana’s lips. “Don’t tell me what happened, because it will only frustrate me in the shadows of that sad past. I want to focus on my future, which is you,” he exclaimed.

Bryana nodded and tried to understand Dean who was still hurt by the reality. She hugged her husband again very tightly and said, “don’t go again!”

“Yeah, I’ll stay here with you,” Dean said as he continued to hug Bryana. sometimes he kisses his wife’s forehead until for a moment he releases the hug and looks at his wife’s face while pressing her palm to the forehead to her cheek.

“Honey… You have a fever.”

“Come on, I’ll be fine,” Bryana said then pulled Dean to lie down with her, then hugged him. “I will heal because of you.”

“Honey, I’ll get warm water to compress you,” said Dean as he let go of Bryana’s arms.

“No. it’s not necessary,” Bryana cried again, tightening her arms around Dean. “Stay here. I’m afraid that if you leave, you will leave me again!”

Dean sighed, glancing at Bryana who was too afraid to leave again. “Okay. Now go to sleep. I’ll always be by your side.”

Bryana nodded and buried her face into Dean’s chest. Ah, she missed the position she had become accustomed to. The smell of her husband’s body seemed to have become an addiction to her. Sometimes, the pregnant woman looks up to kiss her husband on the lips aggressively without any more prestige or hatred. the hatred that had hit before, slowly collapsed because it was repaid with such sincere apologies and love.

Dean continued to hug Bryana while rubbing her back casually until she fell asleep. slowly, the man released his embrace and touched his wife’s lips which looked pale and dry, even her fever was very high.

“I’d better compress her,” he said then walked out of the room and down the stairs. he looked at the atmosphere of the house seemed deserted, then walked towards the kitchen.

Raymond and Stevan arrived at the house after Dany and Louis gave the news that Dean was home. Of course, they also got news from Samuel who knew Dean’s arrival.

“Daddy’s better get some rest. We can talk to Dean tomorrow, with Bryana too. Let them know what’s going on,” Raymond exclaimed, looking pityingly at his agitated father for not apologizing to Dean. But he was also relieved that Dean was back with Bryana without having to persuade him, which meant that his son-in-law cared about his daughter.

Raymond immediately took him to a private room for his father which was on the ground floor near the guest room.

Dean walked out of the kitchen with a container of warm water and a compress. but when he was about to climb the stairs, he met Raymond who had just come from the direction of Stevan’s room.

“Dean,” Raymond called.

“What?” asked Dean curtly.

“Thanks for coming back for Bryana and… About Dad, Things aren’t as bad as you think. let me and dad explain everything,” cried Raymond who was in front of Dean about three meters away from him.

“I came back because I love her, and I beg you, don’t talk about the past anymore. I want to be calm with my wife and kids because discussing the bloody past will only fuel my hatred for you or your father!” Dean exclaimed with a straightforward and still disappointing feeling for Raymond. He immediately walked up the stairs without waiting for a response from his brother-in-law.

Raymond sighed, it seems that Dean’s return doesn’t mean the problem is over. He had to fight hard with his father to get forgiveness from his brother-in-law who was very disappointed in him.

Dean entered the room and approached Bryana, who was sleeping but was delirious incoherently, as if calling his name, asking him to stay.

“She’s so fever,” Dean muttered, touching Bryan’s forehead with his palm. He sat on the edge of the bed, and immediately wrung out a cloth that had been dipped in warm water, then put it on his wife’s forehead.

‘Hopefully, this will get the fever down and tomorrow I’ll take her to the doctor,’ he thought, for it was too late now to go to the doctor or the hospital. He also did not want to disturb his wife’s sleeping activities.

Raymond entered his room and looked at Monica who was sleeping so peacefully. He smiled as if he was relieved even though he had previously been tensed about his conflict with Dean. Staring at his wife’s face which he had not seen for almost a month, made him feel happy like a cool breeze in the heat of the weather.

He immediately took a shower, then put on casual clothes, and immediately followed his wife to sleep on the king-size bed which was covered with white sheets. The man embraced his wife until the one who was being hugged woke up.

“You have come.” Monica looked at Raymond who was so close to her face.

“I miss you.” Raymond touched Monica’s lips, which looked natural pink without lipstick, then kissed it.

Monica returned the kiss and remembered Bryana, who had a tantrum tonight because was annoyed at Dean who didn’t come home.

“Have you managed to bring Dean here?” She asked.

“He has come and is now with Bryana,” Raymond replied then tightened his arms around Monica’s chest. “Don’t talk about other people.. I want to express my longing for you.”
