Shinobi Exam: First Question, Why Was Akatsuki Destroyed? Chapter 78. The Left Eye Overlooks The Past, And The Right Eye Overlooks The Future.

Konoha year 56, July.

With the increasing estrangement between Konohagakure and the Uchiha clan, the atmosphere in Konohagakure was becoming more and more strange.

All the shinobi families alienated Uchiha, and Konoha civilians gradually began to resist the management by the Konoha Police force.

It was as if there was some kind of power brewing in Konohagakure.

What was even more against the norm was that a few days ago, the Uchiha clan suddenly called back all the clan members, except for the daily security force personnel who maintained order. Konohagakure’s people didn’t see any other Uchiha members.

…

At the ninja school, Sasuke listened absentmindedly to his teacher’s explanation about the method of refining chakra, and his small face was full of distress.

He had already learned these things, and even now, could use some low-level jutsu.

The reason he was glum was that he noticed that his Oniisan was somehow unhappy every day lately.

His father, too, spent his days in meetings, conferences, and gatherings with his clan. None of them played with him.

Sasuke sighed and looked out of the window. Suddenly, he saw a crow standing on the treetop outside the window. The crow’s eyes had a red windmill-like pattern.

Sasuke rubbed his eyes and looked at the treetops again, only to find that there was nothing there.

…

A stream of blood ran down from the left eye along the deep lines, hitting the tiles on the roof and breaking into petals.

“Who?”

Hearing the sound from the roof, Uchiha Fugaku, who was inside the room, looked overhead. The three tomoe in his eyes abruptly opened.

Seeing the familiar chakra color, Uchiha Fugaku looked moved.

Whoosh!

Uchiha Itachi appeared in front of Fugaku. At this moment, his body was trembling slightly. The blood and tears in his left eye were shocking, which surprised Fugaku.

“Are you … Itachi?”

Fugaku looked at Uchiha Itachi with some disbelief, the current Uchiha Itachi was much older than his son, and his chakra was much thinner.

Just like … a flame that kept trying to survive, with only ambers.

“Father!”

Uchiha Itachi thought about countless possibilities of what he would do when facing this man. But he couldn’t predict that when seeing him, his heart would be overwhelmed with grief.

Plop.

His knees instantly bent, and he kneeled on the ground.

Seeing the future of Konohagakure, he truly felt that he had done wrong and that the clan shouldn’t have been destroyed.

If that time when the Leader, Nagato, invaded Konoha, and the Police Force were still around, would Konoha still be reduced to rubble?

He didn’t know…

Seeing Itachi kneeling in front of him, Fugaku’s eyes suddenly changed. Mangekyō instantly appeared in his eyes, and the strange pattern in his left eye turned round and round.

“Man… Mangekyō?”

It was Uchiha Itachi’s turn to be shocked. He didn’t expect his father to own Mangekyō.

‘However, if he had Mangekyō, why didn’t he fight back when I killed him?’

‘Could it be…’

For a moment, Uchiha Itachi felt like his heart was stabbed with a knife. What he never expected was that when his father’s Mangekyō pupil stopped turning, he asked him a question that was absolutely impossible for him to ask.

“You, how much time do you have?”

‘!’

‘!!’

‘!!!’

Uchiha Itachi looked at his father in horror. His scalp was tingling, and all the hair on his body felt like it was standing on end. His whole body seemed to freeze.

Seeing Itachi’s uneasiness, Uchiha Fugaku explained lightly:

“In order to find a way out for my people, my eyes gained the ability to see the past and the future.”

“I just saw your past and knew where you came from, but I couldn’t see further.”

“I can’t see your future either, and it’s all chaos. Which means you haven’t determined your own self.”

Uchiha Fugaku’s explanation left Itachi completely dumbfounded.

He didn’t expect that his own father had awakened such an ability.

No wonder, back then, he didn’t resist…

‘Did you see certain death?’

Mangekyō’s awakening was inseparable from their own will, and Itachi had always felt that Mangekyō’s ability came from the deepest desire of its owner’s heart.

Just like Uchiha Shisui, he yearned for peace and hoped to fix the relationship between the village hierarchy and the Uchiha clan by talking and communicating, so he had the Kotoamatsukami ability.

As for himself, he was unable to fix the conflict between the village and the clan and wanted to destroy everything. So, it gave birth to Amaterasu. It could burn everything to the ground, and he wanted to bear everything alone, so it gave birth to Tsukuyomi.

‘If that’s true, then does Uchiha Obito’s ability mean that deep down he wanted to escape?’

Itachi didn’t know, but at this moment, knowing Uchiha Fugaku’s Mangekyō, Itachi’s heart, which was still wavering, made an instant decision.

“I’m from Konoha year 59, had exterminated the Uchiha clan with Uchiha Obito today, on this night.”

Itachi’s throat rolled. He looked at the stunned Uchiha Fugaku, and his guilt deepened.

“Although you awakened Mangekyō, you didn’t resist. You and Mother were both … killed by me!”

“But the death of the Uchiha clan didn’t bring real peace to Konoha. It only reduced Konoha’s strength.”

“I did something wrong, Father!”

“Now, I’m back to make up for my mistakes.”

Uchiha Itachi looked at the time. Right now, the ‘him’ from this timeline was still at Root, 2 hours before the extermination plan began.

“Since you came back, you must have a plan. What are you going to do? What do I need to do?”

Looking at Uchiha Fugaku, who had an inexplicable gleam in his eyes, Uchiha Itachi froze for a moment, not expecting his father to believe him so easily.

“Aren’t you even going to look into it? About me being from the future?”

Pa!

Fugaku slapped Itachi on the back of the head. Uchiha Fugaku looked at Itachi and said, “What’s there to look into? How could I not know? You’re my son!”

“Besides, you don’t think that you’re the first person to come from the future, do you?”

“Ah, Itachi, you’re still too young!”

Saying that, Uchiha Fugaku directly asked, “What preparations have you made?”

He knew that his son was an excellent shinobi. Since he came back, naturally, he would have prepared a lot of things.

“Uh …”

Itachi was a little puzzled by his father’s rapid acceptance, but the dull pain at the back of his head made his heart feel warm.

‘Did Father…’

‘Forgive me?’

Looking at Itachi, as his father, Uchiha Fugaku knew what he was thinking.

He sighed in his heart. It seemed that his eldest son, who had suffered a lot over the years, couldn’t even hide his emotions anymore.

Looking at the thin body and the bloody left eye, Uchiha Fugaku knew that Itachi had also given a lot to make up for his mistakes.

“Itachi, all these years, it’s been hard on you!”

‘Uh…’

Uchiha Itachi’s eyes soured for a moment. As soon as all his emotions were suppressed, he heard his father’s angry voice:

“Later, let’s both meet my ungrateful eldest son!”

Looking at Itachi, who was dumbfounded in place, Uchiha Fugaku asked, “By the way, what about the preparations you made?”

“Preparations?”

Itachi almost wanted to say that he hadn’t prepared anything and just decided everything according to Uzumaki Nagato’s proposal.

Thinking of Uzumaki Nagato, Uchiha Itachi pulled out two scrolls with a thought in his mind.

“This scroll is a powerful jutsu that can destroy the Uchiha clan’s land in its entirety.”

“In this one, five hundred corpses.”

“Five hundred… corpses?”

Uchiha Fugaku froze for a moment and instantly understood Uchiha Itachi’s plan. A warm glint of light flashed in his eyes.
