“It’s the end of the year, and my brother is still out? That doesn’t sound like something my brother at all.” Fu Tingyan knew his brother too well. It was almost the new year; he could not have gone out at such an important time of the year.

Qin Shu pursed her lips. “Something important came up that needed his attention.”

Ning Meng returned with a bowl and a pair of chopsticks. She scooped a bowl of rice for Fu Tingyan and placed it in front of him. “Seventh Young Master.”

Fu Tingyan accepted the bowl and chopsticks. When he heard Qin Shu’s words, he looked up. “Has my brother been so busy recently?”

Qin Shu nodded. “Yes.”

Fu Tingyan nodded, helping himself to a few dishes. “Did my brother say anything before he left?”
