Starting With Contract Pets Chapter 62

However, Su Bai was disappointed that no information could be found on the subject online.

After thinking for a while, he sent his English teacher’s younger sibling a message. “Brother Hou, do you know anything about blood pets?”

After a brief moment, the man replied to him. “Where did you learn about blood pets?”

Realizing that the subject was not widely known, he quickly replied, “I just came to know about them. Is it a taboo?”

Hou Lan: “No, it’s not, though mostly professional Pet Tamers or individuals of the same ranking and seldom ordinary citizens know about it.

“That thing is particularly evil, promoting pets too quickly, and is very difficult to distinguish. It can cause the social order to collapse, so it has been banned long ago, and news of it has been blocked, too.

“The Spirit Alliance has an extremely strong opinion about blood pets and won’t let any of them go.”

“Why? Just because blood pets are too strong? There’s no right or wrong in power, is there?”

“I don’t know the specifics and only know that that kind of power comes from a dark organization called the Twelve Dragon Slayers. That organization once relied on blood pets’ power to slaughter half of the most powerful pets of the dragon family in the alliance and the gymnasium. Hence, they’re the alliance’s biggest foe.

“Blood pets’ characteristic is that they produce a strong smell of blood when launching blood attacks. If you encounter one, don’t kill it, and you can’t beat it, just run away.

“Just go back and directly report about it. It’s best if you have the ability to catch one alive. Be it just reporting or catching a blood pet alive, you can obtain a lot of rewards.”

Hou Lan enthusiastically explained what he knew to the youth.

“Thank you; I understand.”

After chatting for a while, Su Bai looked in the direction the blood pet had disappeared to. It seemed that it was heading to the westside’s temple and had probably just been passing by.

After thinking about it, he still decided against reporting it because he could not explain how he had found the other party. Furthermore, blood pets were generally impossible to distinguish from the outside.

It did not make sense for him to report it, so it was better to pretend that he did not know.

However, according to Hou Lan, blood pets were very fierce. The dragon family was notoriously powerful, and to have slaughtered half of them, the Twelve Dragon Slayers was truly amazing.

Sure enough, his current status was still too low; he had not even heard of the Twelve Dragon Slayers before.

He really wanted to obtain a professional Pet Tamer certificate as soon as possible.

He secretly made up his mind that in December of this year, he would definitely obtain a certificate.

Shaking his head, he slowly returned home.

“Brother, see how I cultivated this Woodgrain Fruit Tree?”

Su Yue saw that he had returned and asked with a smile.

“Haha! Not bad. It’s green and pretty. Have you added rotting soil?” He glanced at the tree and asked.

“Yes, big bro! You’re a cultivator, indeed. You can tell at a glance that I added rotting soil,” exclaimed his younger brother.

“Haha! The color of the leaves cultivated with rotting soil is very vibrant, so I recognized it right away.

“Let me go to my bedroom first, then I’ll come out to chat with you in a bit!”

Su Bai laughed.

Back in his bedroom, he put down the Purgatory Tyrant’s egg, then took out a knife, and made a small cut on his palm with it. His blood dripped onto the eggshell, which shone with a faint dark red light. Soon, the egg had fully absorbed his blood.

The Purgatory Tyrant monster was very violent and domineering. The owner’s aura must be recognized by it before it hatched to establish a deeper bond. This way, the pet would not bite off its owner’s hand as soon as it was born.

“Oh, buddy, treat me now. It hurts so much; I can’t endure it.”

After dripping blood for a while, Su Bai hurriedly shouted.

“Howl! ( ̄^ ̄)”

The cub reluctantly trotted over and used its spiritual power to heal him. Hmph, Ah Bai only thought of it at such a time.

He subbed his hands, the wound almost healing completely. It was really terrifying, since the blood to be injected into the unhatched egg needed to be fresh and could not be drawn in advance.

“Thank you, buddy. You’re so good to me.” Su Bai quickly praised the cub and took out the food he had prepared for it tonight, which was that No.1 Purple Jade potion.

He mixed the potion with some floral milk and added various flavors of energy medicinal cakes to round off the cub’s meal.

“Howl! Ψ( ̄∀ ̄)Ψ”

The cub rushed over happily and went to enjoy its delicacy. This potion, which contained a hint of profound wood, was very beneficial to its spirit growth. If eaten regularly, the cub would evidently be more proficient in the application of its wood skills.

Profound attributes, law, and Dao were three different levels of understanding of the power on heaven and earth. The cub’s No.1 potion, which contained profound wood, was actually very fragmented yet had a significant effect on his pet’s improvement. It not only increased its comprehension of the skills but also caused the accumulation of spiritual power to rise very quickly.

Currently, his pet was not far from being promoted to a high-level servant.

Su Bai played a song and happily hummed Huang Jiaju’s ‘Broad Sea and Sky’ as he entered the shower.

“On this cold night, I watch the snow drift by, full of…

“…Forgive me for the uninhibited indulgence of love and freedom in this life…”

After taking a shower, he looked at his handsome face in the mirror and nodded with satisfaction before walking out.

The cub played games after its meal, its two paws sliding wildly across the screen. After it headshot an opponent, a girl in the same team cheered in surprise. She kept shouting that she wanted to become friends, unaware that she was playing with a pet.

Su Bai watched for a while, then he lay on his bed to play with his mobile phone. The people in his class were frantically discussing Monday’s test.

Precisely because of the test, his friends were all preparing on Saturday and Sunday. It would be difficult for him to ask them out, hunting monsters and making money, so he could only go to Phoenix Mountain by himself.

He chatted with his friends for a while and then went to watch Fang Laoba’s live stream, feeling envious that the anchor could venture into the vast monster wilderness.

After taking a break, he went down for dinner. He chatted with his family before returning to his room to sleep.

Early the next morning, he carried the egg and rode his electric scooter to Phoenix Mountain.

At 10 a.m., he arrived at the mountain, south of Carp Town. While there were some hot springs here, not many people could be seen, for no one cared about the geothermally heated groundwater in this place.

This was because the mountain was once a mass grave in ancient times, where a large number of people had died due to the invasion of monsters after the world’s aura rejuvenation. In fact, the unclaimed corpses of humans and the remains of monsters that had been killed back then were still buried here.

Because of the mass grave and the existence of the corpses for a period of time, many undead monsters were born on Phoenix Mountain. This attracted a lot of summoners.

Undead monsters were very difficult to kill and could be resurrected as long as their crystal nuclei were not broken. However, because their crystal nuclei were more precious and the psychic bones making up their bodies were extremely hard, they were considered good materials.

Phoenix Mountain used to be among those famous adventure places in Cannes decades ago, but because too many Pet Tamers had come on adventure, the undead monsters had disappeared in just ten years, and the mountain was now completely deserted. Occasionally, a few Pet Tamers would still come here to try their luck but to no avail.

Naturally, Su Bai was not here to pick up the leftovers and had other purposes.

He rode his scooter and set off in the direction of Phoenix Mountain.

…

“Hey, third brother, doesn’t that look like Su Bai?” On the street, someone looked at Su Bai’s figure and asked.

The other person looked over intently and was pleasantly surprised. “It’s him! Let’s catch up with him; he’s alone. We must teach him a lesson this time!”
