Starting With Contract Pets Chapter 31

“I finally got this notebook.”

Su Bai looked at the little notebook in his hand and exhaled before carefully putting it into his pocket.

Not only did he obtain a small notebook this time, he would also be learning from Gao An, the president of Cannes Trainer Association. This was considered a huge profit.

Although the bald, old man would not give him financial support, there were still many hidden benefits to this. For example, his junior trainer subsidy in the first half of the year had been directly distributed, which was a full 100,000 yuan.

Furthermore, as soon as he talked about the Construct Reservoir to his master, the matter was directly settled.

The thing that his parents had not managed to solve for half a month was solved with just one phone call. This was the power of connections.

“Let’s go home, buddy.”

Su Bai picked up the cub and walked out.

“Howl~”

“Student Su Bai, wait for me!”

He had only taken two steps when someone called him from behind.

“Teacher, you just finished the exam? Congratulations on obtaining a junior trainer qualification certificate.”

Turning around and seeing the small notebook in his English teacher’s hands, he congratulated her.

“Thank you. It’s been four years, and I’ve finally obtained this with much difficulty.” Hou Jie walked over, holding the notebook emotionally.

“Haha, it’s very difficult to obtain a trainer certificate, so that’s normal.” The boy nodded.

“By the way, did you also obtain a certificate? Don’t worry; you can come to me even if you didn’t. I’ll give you free tuition.”

After speaking happily, she looked at the boy and remembered that he might not have passed the exam. If the boy was feeling down because he failed, it was really inappropriate of her to be doing this in front of him.

Su Bai scratched his head. “Thank you, teacher, but I also passed the exam and obtained a certificate.”

He had no other choice. Since he did not want to deceive her, he could only feel awkward after revealing the truth.

???

She only felt that there was no love in this world. It was too difficult for her to be born in it.

Over the course of four years, she had taken the exam eight times, yet a sixteen-year-old boy passed it on his first try… Was the gap between them so big?

“Oh, teacher, are you alright?” asked the boy worriedly.

“Yes, I’m okay. I was just too shocked. Congratulations; can you show me your certificate?”

She was in disbelief and hoped that it was a joke.

Alas, the next moment, Su Bai took out a small notebook, which was exactly like hers. She smiled and took it, her hands trembling a little.

Full marks on the experimental part? What kind of nature-defying student was this?

Looking at the boy’s notebook, she was stunned for a long time.

“Huff… huff…”

After taking a few deep breaths, Hou Jie looked at her student and asked, “Can you tell me about the monsters you encountered during the experiment?”

“Oh…” Su Bai was put in an awkward spot, afraid that his reply would deal a blow on the English teacher again. Furthermore, he had cheated with his interface skill, and it was nothing to brag about. He would not have said anything if the teacher had not asked.

Though the ‘cheat’ was technically among his skillset.

“Don’t worry; I can bear it!”

“Okay, then. It went like this…”

…

“I’m convinced that you’re a genius now, Su Bai.” Hou Jie was completely convinced. She could not do any of the boy’s operations herself, so his certificate was really well-deserved.

Especially the improvement of the catalytic material formula, which she had never thought of before.

Other than her younger brother, Su Bai was the only impressive person she had seen in so many years.

Sure enough, people and their physique could not be generalized.

“Haha, I just got lucky.” Su Bai did not know what to say. Fortunately, the English teacher did not see his master, or else it would be too difficult for him.

“No need to be humble; you’re truly skilled. If you have any needs, you can always come to me for help.

“By the way, I have a trainer house in the city. Student Su Bai, do you want to come over and be a trainer?

“You don’t need to stay for a long time and can come over whenever you have financial difficulty. The basic salary is 50,000 yuan. If there’s an order, you’ll earn a 90% commission once it is completed.”

Hou Jie suddenly suggested this because the boy had mentioned coming up with a catalytic idea out of poverty. She felt that it was fate and she would not be losing money, though the profit gained would just be small.

“Of course, I’m willing, but 90% is too much; 50% is fine.”

For Su Bai, the basic salary was already on par to a senior’s or a junior trainer’s income, and taking 90% of the shares would be too unkind.

After discussing for a while, they decided that he would take a 70% share, and the matter was finalized. He had become the special trainer of the Blue Moon trainer house.

1

Su Bai originally wanted to find a trainer house to join himself and did not expect to join the English teacher’s trainer house. He could even get a good salary and commission.

It could be regarded as an addition to his career as a Pet Tamer.

When he returned home, his parents were nowhere to be seen.

He put the bunch of materials containing all aspects of knowledge given by his master, Gao An, on the table and then gently lay down on his bed.

He stared up at the ceiling for a while as he took a break, then he went to sort out his harvest today. The 100,000 yuan had been credited; coupled with the 50,000 yuan obtained from the rock gambling and his parents’ 30,000 yuan, he got a total of 180,000 yuan.

As for the money he would receive from the Blue Moon trainer house, he would only get it next month.

With 180,000 yuan, the cub’s temporary cultivation crisis had been lifted, and its living standards had also improved somewhat.

The wood spirit potion, the green thorn plum juice, and the floral milk used in the cub’s previous cultivation were only the most beginner cultivation materials.

Taking out his phone, Su Bai looked at the potions and spirit plants on the market; he planned to replace them with a 4,000-yuan jade potion and a Tier 1 medium-grade 2,000-yuan spirit fruit, blue-white orange. However, the floral milk would remain.

This meal cost more than 7,000 yuan. If he was not training the cub, one meal a day would be fine, but since he was training it, his pet needed two or three meals at least. Hence, 180,000 yuan was just enough for a week.

1

“It’s really a bottomless pit.”

Su Bai sighed. If he did not have to worry about money, he could formulate a medicine most suitable for the cub.

Cultivating pets was really a bottomless pit. Even though he passed and got a junior trainer certificate, it only relieved a little pressure on him.

The thing was, Su Bai’s era was not the initial stage of aura rejuvenation. Spiritual plants and treasures could not be found everywhere in the wild, and even fewer monsters were sighted there. Most of them were trapped in the monster wilderness; the initial pet strength was not particularly strong, either. Hence, earning money depended on the summoner themselves.

There were five more days until the survival challenge. The first prize of one million yuan was extremely important and must be obtained.

Su Bai stared up at the ceiling and made plans, but unfortunately, he did not have enough time or money. Hence, there was no way he could afford another skill for the cub.

At present, he could only work hard on improving the cub’s trump card, the super Vine Whip skill, by incorporating more light balls into a vine whip to make it thicken.
