“If you did not wash your face as long as I did, you would not be able to stand it either.”

Zhao Ying was exasperated. She continued scolding Gu Jin.

“Madam…”

Li Ran quickly interrupted, “I recognize you, Gu Jin.”

She managed to stop their argument.

Their eyes lit up.

However, she did not agree to anything yet.

Gu Jin’s expression instantly changed after he heard that. He looked at Zhao Ying and said nervously, “Aren’t you afraid that people might take advantage of you?”

“What other supplies do you have? Put them in the car. I’ll take the both of you out of here.”

Zhao Ying was elated when she heard that. She smiled and said, “We don’t have anything else. Otherwise, we wouldn’t be so eager to leave. Let’s just get in the car and leave.”

“Before that, I’d like to see the house that you guys were living in.”

Li Ran opened the car door and was about to get out.

Zhao Ying began to panic. She looked at Gu Jin worriedly.

She put the car keys into her pocket and closed the door. Then, she made a motion, indicating for the two of them to lead the way.

Everyone was deep in their own thoughts. Li Ran was puzzled while the two of them were worried. They were also afraid that Li Ran might change her mind and refused to help them.

There were a number of bungalows in this area.

Gu Jin pushed the door open and they arrived at a courtyard.

There was a peach tree that already bore fruits. The peaches were so heavy that they caused the branches to droop.

However, the peaches were abnormal. Instead of the usual white-ish pink color, they were black.

Li Ran looked at peaches curiously, which prompted Zhao Ying to explain, “When we first arrived here, the peaches were normal and tasted delicious. However, in the past month, they had mutated. We had no idea what happened.”

Gu Jin added, “I think it might have something to do with the zombie that got in the other day. It must have contaminated the peach tree!”
