The man’s scream of pain pierced through Li Ran’s eardrums, all the way to the depths of her brain.

They were already quite a distance from the house, but Li Ran could still vaguely hear the zombies’ biting sound. She could even picture what was happening.

“Don’t think about it. We’ll face situations like these sooner or later. There’s nothing we can do. Besides, that person was not a good person. He would be in jail if we still had a normal society,” Cui Chong said calmly.

He was already immune to it.

“You sure adapt quickly.”

Hearing that, Cui Chong let out a bitter laugh.

Li Ran was about to walk further when Cui Chong pulled her back.

There were at least ten zombies wandering around the area.

Cui Chong pursed his lips and turned around with a sullen face.

They found a large room with an enormous amount of shelves. The shelves were quite empty, not many goods were left. Therefore, the surroundings could be seen clearly.

When Li Ran looked back, she saw a bloody scene.

A person had been torn into pieces by the zombies. Bloody pieces of meat could be seen everywhere. It made Li Ran nauseous.

She could barely control herself from vomiting.

Cui Chong dragged Li Ran to the corner of the room. He was trying to figure out how he could escape this situation with a woman.

He had been in difficult situations before.

However, before this, he was always alone. It was relatively easier for him to escape by himself.

With the addition of another person, things got complicated.

Cui Chong looked at Li Ran with a serious expression but he did not say a word.

It made Li Ran feel uncomfortable. His gaze was no longer as friendly as before. Her heart was pounding.

“Don’t panic. We just have to hold on. We will be saved soon.”

Li Ran tried to comfort him.

Cui Chong pretended to be relaxed and nodded.

He smiled bitterly and said, “Unfortunately, we seemed to have been discovered.”

Then, Cui Chong stood up.

Li Ran was startled. She quickly stood up as well and looked around.

There were zombies who were slowly walking towards them.

They came through the back door while more were coming from the front door.

Li Ran dug her nails into her flesh. She was trying to come up with a plan. Maybe if she acted as bait, she could lure the zombies away. It would give Cui Chong an opportunity to run away. After that, she could just hide in the mysterious space.

‘It will work.’

Just as Li Ran was about to say something…

She was suddenly pushed. Her body hit one of the shelves. The loud noise attracted the zombies. They were now all rushing towards her.

Li Ran fell to the ground. She did not have time to run away.

On the other hand, Cui Cong ran out without any hesitation.

Li Ran laughed at herself.

The zombies bared their fangs and brandished their claws as they charged at her. Some of the zombies had intestines stuck to their bodies while their hands were covered in blood.

They could not resist the temptation that was living humans.

Cui Chong glanced back and saw that Li Ran was completely surrounded by zombies.

It would be impossible for her to escape.

He took this opportunity to save himself and dashed off.

Lin Nan and Fang Lin happened to see this scene.

Fang Lin tightened his grip on his gun. Just as he was about to shoot, Lin Nan rushed like a bolt of lightning towards the crowd of zombies.
